Wouldn’t it need years of research and trials ? After all, the anti Vaxxers will want to know for definite exactly what is in their Coke ...
It tickles me many will refuse a vaccine made by scientists, but will often take drugs sold by Dave with 47 children and no front teeth. :D

This should help crank up the vaccination rate.

No requirement to observe patients for 15 minutes after Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid vaccination
observation period

GPs do not need to observe patients for 15 minutes after administering the Oxford/AstraZeneca Covid vaccine.

The MHRA said this comes as no reports of anaphylactic adverse reactions have so far been associated with the Oxford vaccine.

Patients vaccinated with the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine must still be kept for observation for [15 minutes].
Also means post vaccination people won't have to sit in rooms with each other risking contracting CV19.

There are people refusing the Pfizer vaccine because it is from the EU, seems just as dumbe to me.

Yup - I would prefer the Oxford one as it’s based on existing tech - not mRNA but would likely take whatever is offered tbh

To be fair, in general I don't think the refusals to have the Pfizer vaccine are to do with it originating in the EU, but are instead are to do with the fact that it is relatively new technology, and the recorded adverse reactions.

Oh, and Pfizer is a US company.

I will also accept what is offered, but would prefer the AZ vaccine.

There is also a dumb as mince pro-eu movement to boycott British products... daft fuckers can’t work out there are a lot of pro-Eu folks who will be put out of work because of it.

Biden announced his plan to get more people vaccinated. He's going to release ALL the vaccines for first doses instead of holding half of them back for the 2nd dose.
Then he appeared on TV this morning getting his 2nd dose...

1. That seems not a stupid idea.
2. Well you'd expect he's likely to be a slight priority in this being your new president ?

I think you're looking for a problem there that doesn't actually exist.

What happens if there is a delay in the supply? Also: They've only managed to administer about 30% of the vaccines delivered to the States so far. There are millions of doses sitting unused for the past month. Now LA County has closed down the biggest test location (Dodger Stadium) & are going to use the place to give vaccinations.... so the testing capacity just dropped by 1/3rd... Just in time for the inauguration next week & Mayor Garshitti will be able to declare that the daily positive numbers are dropping.

If you have a problem with that aspect of it you might not want to consider the last 4 years :D

Our glorious State dictator Nero Newsolini has ignored the rules since Day One of his term. One issue about his deciding to go the French Laundry restaurant is WHO he went with.. a bunch of medical industry lobbyists.

Trump didn't need alzheimer's to be a brainless moron, so even if the kiddy fiddler has it, I'm not sure it makes much difference to the US population.

Although I do wonder if bet-fair will take odds on a civil war in the USA

I've been wondering what are the odds on Harris becoming president before the year's out.
