Doesn't the 'Vyrus'? (Development of the Tesi concept). Although - not sure if that's a road-bike.Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Thu Jan 07, 2021 11:17 am Just thinking back, I don't think there are any road bikes which use proper structural carbon like the Britten does?

Race bike would be the Britten. I was so lucky to have visited their workshop in Christchurch in NZ in 1996 and chatted to the team as they prepared the bike for it's first race meeting of the season. Being inches away from their chief mechanic reassembling the engine was something else.
Roadbike would be a KTM RC8R. Never wanted to sell my pair, but had little option. I can see another one in my ownership in the not too distant future. Even have room to park it up in my lounge in my lounge.

Bit boring but ZX7RR with the euro headlights setup.
And of course the Britten.

My first thought was an original 1974 Ducati 750SS
This particular one sold for £100,000 a couple of years ago but if I had one I couldn't resist the temptation to take it out at least a couple of times a year so I'm not sure it qualifies.

Likely candidates would be a 1960's racebike. The problem is there's so many to chose from, some of them are very pretty, other have brilliant engineering.
6 cylinder 250cc from Honda. A bit too cliched.
The start of 2T domination? An MZ 50cc. Maybe needs a fairing:
The title specifies a bike so I can't have this, a 3 cylider 50cc Suzuki:
This one will do, a Suzuki 2 cylinder 50cc:

Yup, the FM and Britten. That'd do
Even bland can be a type of character

...and 12 gears!!
Very nice But it's actually an RS67 125cc V4. There's one of these in Sammy Miller's museum, which is just down the road from me.

Re: If You Had To Buy A Bike To Sit And Look At ?
Thetwin shock positioning on that is bizarre. The lower shock mount is actually ahead of the top mount. How would that work?
Agree with everyone that chose a Britten, would love to have an RC8R in my life (but it would probably entail divorce) and the Honda 297cc 6 cylinder has been my dream bike for over 50 years.
But for something to look at - not the (very slightly) effeminate 916, but the brutal 888 SP3...

The 916 is more than slightly effeminate All the better for it too.

I'm forgetting myself.
In my fantasy garage of all time, to partner my Ariel, a 500 Manx.
I mean, just look at it..
And remember, 52 bhp. From a 500 single. In the 1950's....
