Don't you just hate noises that shouldn't be there!!!

Post by weeksy »

Went out today for a ride.... Every pedal stroke from about 1 mile into the ride i got a clicky noise when pushing hardish, soft it was fine. Stayed with me all the ride.

So i'm sitting thinking "Bottom bracket or Pedals"

Came back and swapped the pedals... silent... perfect.

Took the pedals apart but saw nothing untoward, clean, greased, bearings look ok.

So i thought "just to make sure"... i then put the pedals back on.... still silent LOL..

So now i don't actually know what the issue was.... i guess we'll find out next time out but i've tested it on 3-4 short loops, flat, hard, hill, etc... silent.

I don't know, my KTM always sounds like it's ready to explode anyway :)

I had a Campagnolo Chorus crank that had a slight creak years ago.
If I'd known more about the deal I would have likely sorted it but instead it just got on my tits for ages.
Bought it on a Hearn Hill frame and when I grew a bit swapped it over with the rest of the groupset to a Malcolm Elliot frame, think I got that frame in about 86 or so.

That was when 531c was still a thing in club level bike frames.
