Before I bought my K12, I nearly bought a GSXR1000 out of England, but I rocked up to a local dealer because a wee voice in my head told me I best have a wee sit to see if I could still fit in one.

I nearly had to be craned off it, just no way my body could take a pure sports bike now.
What'll you be like at my age man?

Older riders, more potholes, more speed cameras, better alternatives (traillies), etc, I imagine.

I still own a 1999 R6 trackbike, just not seen it in 2 years! I found it great on track at my level.

Also owned a 2004 as a road bike. Good fun when going Banzai but uncomfortable for my commute.

I test rode a 2003 R6, it felt like a very fast 350 YPVS, complete with under damped forks and rear shock, it even shook it's head accelerating like a YPVS, accelerating hard out of bends it ran wide.
I test rode a 2002 GSXR750 the same day and bought that, it was a much better handling bike, traded in an SRAD 750 for it, and that handled better than the R6.
