An old friend of mine had a rare MZ for years and I always said if he wanted to sell could he
let me know.
At the age of 91 he asked me if I still wanted it so a deal was done.

Well jel! Incredible things to look at, with great road presence! Last bike to strike me like that was another Ducati, the 916!

Ducati 998 ... Whether I would still be able to ride one is debatable but it would be pretty to look at :D

Yamaha niken appears on my radar as something I'd like to own at some point ... A bit quirky maybe but from the owners I've spoken to all had good things to say about the front grip so even if I never own one , I'd love a test ride.

Having said in the 'still ride?' thread, no more motorcycles.

But, I quite fancy one of these, Can Am Spyder. Not sure whether I can justify umpety thousand pounds on a toy.

Modern, in a retro way, would be a Triumph Speed twin
Proper retro would be Rudge 500 as my dad had one back in the day

Still one of the best ever sports bikes for the road. Wonderful handling, comfortable and roomy, adjustable ergonomics, terrific and characterful engine. And easier and cheaper to live with than a Ducati.
No slouch as a track bike either.
I think the styling has stood the test of time as well. It hasn't aged. Still looks great. I must pull my finger out soon and buy one while there's still some left.

I've already got a KTM 1190 Adv and a 1290 Superduke so I really do need the full set.

I owned an RC8 and an RC8R at the same time. Absolutely great bikes, rode to RC8 across Europe twice and in comfort. The RC8R was so much more lively than the RC8 in its handling (lighter wheels, suspension mods and more power). Think that that even 13 years on from it launch, the design still cuts it. I bought mine at the bottom of their price curve, as values now seem to be on the up.

Quite like another V-twin , and I really liked the Indian 1200 FTR, just waiting for one to come up for sale that has had some mods made to it on the rear end, as the rear light framework is ug-er-ly

Well, I'm not right fussed about new petrol bikes but I've always liked GS Thou's.
Got a mate with quite a nice version thats got GSXR wheels and a few other nice bits but still has the old engine.
I know its not going to handle like a modern bike blah blah blah but they've been in the back of my mind for decades so I still want one at some point.

Failing that a decent electric bike.

I’ve got a hankering to get my first ever bike again, a Suzuki GT185. They are still a sensible price so I may get a decent one if I can find one.

I think my issue is that another matter what other bikes I have in the garage I’ll always wheel out the GSA, so there’s not a lot of point really.

Edit, oh and a naked early 80s CBX thou six cylinder would be nice.

I never really had a list of "one day" bikes but i did always have one or two that i wanted to buy, just to give to my Dad as it was always his "one day" bike

He had a bike license from his teenage years and always wanted a bike himself but once i came along when he was 20 other things always took priority so he never ever got his own bike due to being permenantly skint but always used to hanker after 2 bikes in particular. I always said he was born in the wrong country as he loved all things USA and even his only tattoo is an American Eagle and Shield on his arm from when he was 20.

I took him out on the back of my GS1150 a couple of times but would have been nice to say "Here you go" for either of these

Moto Guzzi California 850 T3

Triumph Bonneville 1975

Unfortunately due to glaucoma he cant ride one anymore :(
