Buying a private sale bike under Tier 4

Post by dayglo jim »

Prompted by Weeksy's thread on what you look for in a new bike I had a bit of a browse around and see what caught my eye. Can it be done? Is it justified to travel for a test ride and you don't commit to buy?

I would imagine that the majority of riders that would want to buy this time of year would be commuters/AWB and would be able to give valid reasons for it.

Bike dealers are closed around here,so I can't see how a test ride or sale could happen at all.

He said private sale, so i'm thinking he's thinking not of a dealership.

Ah. That's different, but perhaps only possible when 'bending' the lockdown rules!

They'd have to be VERY bendy in my mind to think it's OK... "Tier4, stay at home"

Unless my bike had broken down and i had no way of getting to work, i'd say it's a No.
