Re: utterly random picture thread.
I'm too young to have seen him race, for me he's the bloke off "Just Amazing", which I remember mostly for a man eating a push bike.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
Photographer Kevin Carter died on this day, July the 27th in 1994.
Carter is shown here alongside his best known image, an image which won him a Pulitzer prize in 1994.
His 1993 image is of a boy named Kong Nyong and depicted an ongoing famine in Sudan.
Kevin, one of the photographers immortalised in the book 'The Bang-Bang club', committed suicide a few months after winning the Pulitzer, in his suicide note he wrote:
'I am haunted by the vivid memories of killings & corpses & anger & pain ... of starving or wounded children, of trigger-happy madmen, often police, of killer executioners'
Kong died thirteen years after the image was taken.
Kevin died one year after the image was taken, he was 33.

Big Tits Potato Chips’ - 1930 - made in Dunn, North Carolina. ‘Big Tits was the nickname of Titus Tart, one of the owners in the Tart-Chestnut Co. The image is that of Mr. Tart.’

The Manic Street Preachers wrote a song about him. Kevin Carter, not Kong Nyong.Taipan wrote: Mon Jul 27, 2026 9:36 am Photographer Kevin Carter died on this day, July the 27th in 1994.
