I believe there's more "Black Shadow"s running around than ever left the factory.
But having said that, I can't remember the differences between the Rapide and the Shadow

Took the JAPton down to the local classic vehicles meet.
Lots of very similar conversations had with wizened old (ex) bikers,
Not many other bikes there, apart from a couple of small ones.

Not seen an old 305 in years. When i did it was the chain drive version.

That's because they (& the 250 twin) all grenaded the engine 10 minutes after leaving the dealership. Absolutely the worst engine Kawasaki ever came up with.
