60,000 mile Oil/Filter change on the Explorer ST.
Ordered some underbody screws as two are missing & another was on the verge of disappearing.
Last person under there was a mech at the local Ford dealer.

May have just done a deal on a '81 GPz11 project... so I'll have four Kaw 1100's that don't bloody work... (ok three, the '83 GPz11 will fire right up, but has that annoying intermittent ignition issue)

Just got a call from my Dr's office advising me that shoulder surgery may be in my future & that I need to lay off the bikes for a bit, including working on them (& vehicles in general)

They were vague on the time frame, the fuckers.

I think this came from the useless Dr, not the NP who actually knows WTF she's talking about. Haven't even scheduled the MRI yet as it was only approved yesterday, so the surgery comment looks like a WAG. (would have posted this earlier, but was busy working on the ZRX11...)

Local brewery has been out of the ESB for a few weeks, started drinking the Brown Ale, dropped by today & they ran out of that too..

Bugger.

Couldn't decide what to try, barmaid came up with a suggestion & gave me a small taster.

Smell was really familiar, but couldn't work out what it was...

Took a taste....

WTF?? It tastes EXACTLY like christmas pud.

Couldn't bring myself to try a pint of it though.

One of the breweries (can't remember who) makes a Christmas ale with spices and dried fruit that is very rich, quite sweet but packs a punch. It's nice, but one bottle is enough.

I wondered if rat poison made 'em thirsty but apparently not. It seems to be a problem with hot (human soup ) tubs generally....

Succumbed to the temptation of A/C for the first time in about two years.

Might be able to actually use the front door by tomorrow as it's been jammed shut by a combination of heat & the humidity provided by the swamp cooler for about a month. Been going in & out via the garage.

Currently about 106deg outside, 88deg in the (insulated) garage & 72deg inside the house.

Ripped out all the plumbing, isolated the incoming power cable, ready to cut into Toyota sized pieces and take to the tip.

Changed the oil and filters on my campervan. I hate changing diesel oil, its such a filthy staining mess. Still, another job done. Now I have to refit the rear cycle rack as my wife says its good for drying towels on, even though the bastard thing hits you in the back every time you open the rear doors! Ho hum...
