Right then. Fresh week, plan of action:

Was going to call my auto sparky mate to look at the ZX11 & GPz11, but I'm going to have one more faff session first with both bikes.

Dropped by GhettoZone to pick up oil for the ZRX11. Grabbed 2 quarts as every time you spend $20 you get one rewards point & when you get 5 points you get $20 store credit. Was pleasantly surprised to find I already had 5 points so after sales tax (11.25% here) I only had to pay a little over $8 for the oil (Mobil 1 MX 4T).

But dayum - how do they shell walnuts and get them into halves??
If you ever find out, let us know. We have a walnut tree and a good crop most years, but only ever eat one or two because they are impossible to get into without destroying the entire thing.

More manual labour in the sunshine. Wire brushed and sanded down the gate and fence. Started on the painting. Gave up at 4pm as it was hot as balls... Will finish this off Wednesday.

I don't mind them being in bits, but damn it's time consuming and boring shelling the fukkers!!! I didn't collect any from he tree, but my landlady gave me a couple of bagfuls, then a colleague gave me a few more bagfuls! I have given loads away but still got loads to shell

When they start falling in the autumn, i'm going to try and shell them as I collect them

Place 2 walnuts in one hand, squeeze until you feel one of them crack, extract and eat shelled walnut, add 1 new walnut to hand, repeat until you've had your fill.

Came up with a doodad to secure the cam to GPz11 if the mount breaks by joining three of the steel wire wotsits together.

Two internet suppliers and Thames Water. Utilities companies in the UK are constantly digging shit up.

Unscrewed 6in brass house numbers from the front of the garage, gave them the benefit of the polishing wheel on the bench grinder & reinstalled them. 8-)
One (actually the number 2) got away from me when the wheel grabbed it & sent it flying across the garage, took me a while to find it

Finished painting the fence.

Booked a campsite for me and the youngest next week.

Tripped over the dog and took a hit to my ribs/clavicle.

Currently self medicating.

Changed the FD oil in my GS.

Had the bike five years and 8k miles, was supposed to have had a full BMW service history.

It's the first change I've done and the stuff that came out was horrible thick black stuff, I flushed it twice with new stuff and it was still coming out black.

Some people say the fully synth stuff goes black pretty much as soon as it goes in. We'll see if the rear wheel falls off.

The first one of those I saw was a soft top on the way to work one morning. It looked superb, way better than the hard top ever could. Enjoy it.

I didn't do any physio yesterday and not a lot of walking but today -

30 mins of tough physio! He's lovely but the exercises are deceptively nasty   Bonus is that he sees an improvement every session, so it's making me a lot more positive
Then the pool therapy - a full hour of exercises!!! Again, deceptive because it doesn't feel "that" bad because it's in water, but damn - when I left I had to go to the supermarket to get a few things and could only just manage to walk without the stick :o.
Rest of the day I have iced the knee - done some kitchen organising - iced the knee - made some food - iced the knee

Main reason I didn't do much yesterday was that I managed to walk 2kms on Monday with no stick. Not all in one go, but walking to various places. By the time I got home it felt a bit like it does today, so yesterday I did walk, but was generally more gentle

Must find my enthusiasm to get the sewing machine out and start finishing some very very old projects, and maybe starting some new now all the fabric is accessible!!

Returned some GPz750 parts which were actually GPz11 parts to APE. Took advantage of being in Kern county to do some shopping at 8.25% sales tax instead of 11.25%
