Due to logisitics he raced on the Fuel yesterday. He's loving the Fuel at the moment and clearly goes well on it. He was 2nd fastest time of the weeekend, but with 1 practice run and 1 race run, that's hard to complain about.
The bloody thing does have a creak i need to trace though lol, it's a weird one for sure. But i'll get it stripped down and sorted today i hope.

So the shock is back from TFTuned, once again proving themselves a bloody amazing sponsor for the boy.

Out with the old

In with the new.

I've also now got 3 brand new wheels for him for this weekend, all 29 and with new rubber. Ready to race and roll.

National Champs at Revolution Bike Park. A fast flowing track, not a lot of tech in truth. Not sure how much that suits his riding style, but it should arguably be pretty decent fun.
We're going into this one a bit happier than the last few races that's for sure. So we'll see where it takes him and if he can get a decent finish.

I'm currently in Enduro bike creaky hell !!!!

His Fuel has been a little creaky so i thought "ok, i'll sort that".

Stripped the linkage and cleaned it all up.
Nope.

OK, so cleaned up the headset
Nope

Next was different bars and stem
Nope

Threw in a brand new bottom bracket
Nope

Threw in a new headset
Nope

New pedals
Nope

New mech hanger
Nope

By this stage i'm running out of options of what's actually left. So i've then replaced the lower pivot bearings, which again was a Nope. Crankset has been replaced this morning with another one and stripped and cleaned the rocker linkage again. Stripped and cleaned the caliper contact points, fitted different wheels/cassette.
I'm just heading into the garage to see now, but i can't think what's left.

Yeah doesn't seem to be, partly as i've cleaned and checked that, but partly because it does it when standing up too.

I'm 70% sure now it's the rocker pivot bearings, which i've just swapped and i'm slightly hopeful that's fixed it... because if it's not that... then i'm buggered if i know what it can be :D

I've just had a similar issue - I took the shock linkage off, gave it a wipe and put it back on again and it magically fixed it. Not a clue where the problem was.

It seems quiet now. I think it was the rocker bearing. Well not the bearings as such but some dirt or a sticky ball.

We can head off racing tomorrow without any issues. Although we're not taking that bike 🤪🤪
