A friend suggested going to a spa thing today at St Martin de Belleville. Luckily it wasn't too much stuff (I've never been to a spa!!) so we steam roomed, cool sauna'd (!!) and spent a LOT of time just moving about in the outside pool looking at the view of the mountains

We were there for three hours, probably more than two in the pool, so I've gently done loads of exercises/physio, made use of the jets for leg massage and generally floated about

Bloody knackered now but agreed to go up to my resort to watch the football I'm heading to the shower and then to a short siesta/snooze before I drive up to socialise some more

When I fucked all my knee ligaments, I'd spend an hour just walking up and down the pool.

It's definitely worth it for the ligament damage !! It'll only help the bone consolidation if I do that in the shallow end But I have a load of exercises that may help to do in the pool, so crossing fingers it helps Will try and join one of the local pools today so I can go on days I don't have physio

Morning Eucharist and Bible Study. Then took my recaltricant daughter to the psychiatrist. Back home to sort out some admin. I have a meeting with a couple who were going to be married on Saturday, but this has been cancelled due to his going on a drinking bender in Spain on what was supposed to be a gentle family holiday. She had to take the children home and leave them there. So it will be an interesting meeting... Banns were not read on Sunday, so wedding cannot take place unless I read them this Sunday for a date to be set again in three months.

Bible study in the evening as usual. Quite warm again, around 30C or so. No time to ride the bike sadly, as I've been too busy. But it has fuel and is on the charger.

Very late start (due to my first late night out/night out since well before the March accident ) but left in time to get to physio for pool therapy

Discussed my thoughts on lack of healing and he agreed that waiting till the CT scan is a reasonable idea if only because I am progressing with physio so that has to be positive

So, after being in a pool for three hours yesterday (well, mostly pool one short visit to a steam room and a 15 min visit to a "not too hot" sauna - too hot and it seems to hurt my shoulder or heat the metal!!) where I did a lot of basic exercises/movement, I did pool therapy with the physio today. A bit more challenging, but positive

I now have a list of the exercises so that when I go to a pool I can do the same exercises there. Going to try and go 2-3 times a week for now as it can only help

He is properly contrite. Going to AA from today, no drinking at any football matches etc.., no access to pubs from now on. He is being put on a narrow pathway that either leads to a new life or he self destructs and loses her completely. I'm seeing them on Saturday for prayers of healing and support. I'll anoint them both and ask their family to support them constructively and meaningfully.

People can and do post on the group for support; the guy that set it up is the food guy I follow - absolutely no bullshit but great explanations of why the brain looks for addiction/substitutes etc

It's kinda more Ng-wayne.

I have a happy smiley feeling today.

I do so love cheese. I miss a REALLY good cheddar. There is a cheese here that has a similar "tang" (Beaufort) but to get that you have to buy the EXTRA old/mature one = VERY expensive

BUT - every now and then (roughly twice a year but sometimes three times ) Lidl sell Extra Mature and Vintage Cheddar Not only is it from Wyke Farms in Somerset (my brother and my SDad both know the family that owns the farm/group) but Lidl do sell it for a Very cheap price

Soooo, I got a LOT of Excellent Cheddar for a not huge price !! (300g pack, 3.99€ second at 2.99€ = very cheap for out here for a very excellent cheddar!)

This makes me very happy

Around here it's more like "when". Vietnamese friend of mine is called Thuy, it's pronounced Twee. which probably explains why Hue is pronounced "way"

oh, I still have some in the freezer from my last haul Downside is that the texture just isn't the same after freezing, but totally ok for melting on toast or stuff!!

TBF, with the not working, I don't want to spend too much on just one thing But yeah, when I head back from Grenoble on Saturday I might see if there is some left in a Lidl that isn't in an English area!! I don't like to clear the shelf, even if I'm working!!

But places like Chambery or Montmellion (just outside Chambery) have less English so there's usually more on the shelves longer

Went to Spawn the Youngers graduation ceremony. They are now a proper Doctor, but not a real doctor.

And socialised with my estranged wife for the second time since we split. All very civilised and amicable, if a touch emotional.

I now have insurance on the '83 GPz750!! Will be dropping by AAA to get it tagged maybe later today.

The deal with Hagerty is that every time you add a vehicle or bike to the policy it costs less than the previous addition. They have the GPz750 listed as "under construction" with an agreed value of $3000 with Cherished Salvage coverage... which means it anything happens to the bike I get a check for $3000* and I don't have to buy the bike back from the insurance company, I keep what's left to rebuild or sell (same deal with the three 1100's, but they're all listed at $7500 & $40k on the F350). $500 deductible.
For some reason two of the bikes had $0 deductible, so I had that changed to $500 & after all the changes were made, they owe me $1.00 for adding the GPz750.

*actually $2500.

Went for one of them skin checks for cancer yesterday as I have this irritating small lesion on my left temple that sometimes itches, sometimes looks a little flaky and sometimes goes a slightly dark colour.

Got a call early this morning to say its an actinic keratosis (I had to look that up to spell it) and that they want to get a consultant to look at it with a view to cutting it out.

I'm fearful that this my somehow limit my chances of appearing on the front cover of GQ any time soon... Mind you, there's always the local am-dram production of Phantom of the Opera.

I got a message on Wednesday to say a friend had a Fatboy Slim Beach Boutique ticket for Thursday, his wife couldn't go so would I like to go.

I'm a bit humbug with social events these days so initially said "no" but ten minutes later and after some thought, I asked if the free ticket was available and said yes. Bloody glad I did.

My friend is disabled so we got to sit in the accessible area - best seats in the house, nearer to the stage than the VIP area, lots of room, cool breeze, clean toilets and no queue for the bar - result.

It was an awesome show - a two hour set by FBS and I'm as impressed with his endurance as much as I would be with any athlete. He played all his classics but mixed it all up a little; added humourous messages on the screens behind him and the dude really knows how to get the crowd going. He started bang on time, 8pm and finished bang on time, 10pm. I was home by 11pm on public transport.

Thoroughly enjoyable night
