Well i've owned one. I don't really understand your question. I see Ebikes as tools in the same way i see MTBs as tools. But i see ebikes as the tools for the lazy in truth. Not only the lazy though but the people who don't want cycling to be as amazing as i see it... I ride on my own power, in silence, getting the forest around me, the smells, the tastes, the breeze, you experience the highs and the lows, both physically and also emotionally.
When does anyone really finish at ride on an eeb with "fuck i didn't think i was going to make that" or "that was epically hard and i'm really impressed i made it". You just don't get the level of self acomplishment with an ebike.
I hate to think of it as 'purist' but in a way, in my own way, that's kinda what it is.
Ebikes change the whole dynamics of riding. It's like Dodgys little Monkey bike vs a trackday. It's the same sport, but totally different.
There'll be days i want a trackday of course, but i'm not there.
I don't necessarily expect other people to 'get' what i'm saying either.. I don't really give a fuck if they don't. I get mocked by ebikers on trails, i get mocked by mates when riding, but i don't care. I enjoy MTB in my own way.
I LOVED the ride the other day on the Levo SL. But it doesn't mean i'm going out buying one.
You owned one, and you used to rave about it... That's my point... Then you sold it, and since then, you've become quite sanctimonious about how eMTBing isn't "proper" MTBing on the whole, and the only reason I can see for that, is that it suits the narrative as you don't currently own one...
Laws of the internet I guess... Nail your colours to the wall, be evangelical about your choices to everyone else and if they question your choices, tell them "it's ok, you wouldn't get it man" or words to that effect...
Riding bikes is fun... Being able to ride further in a given amount of time for a given amount of effort, makes it more fun for me mostly... For sure, the "all the power all of the time" brigade probably aren't appreciating MTB for what it is, but as I've said countless times before, those of us predisposed to put effort in regardless, eMTB isn't cheating it's simply allowing you to do more for the time or effort that you can spare...
Ridden in isolation, the Levo SL would be a lot of fun I guess, certainly closer to the feel of a regular MTB than a 25kg full fat one... But there are much better SL/mid power eBikes than the Levo SL on the market now for sure...
Anyway... My lazy eBiker stats from the Batch Burner a few weeks ago... 60km with about 1800m of elevation and some of the climbs were killer even on an eBike (especially as I was managing my battery effectively, some people ran out of battery apparently!)... 3hrs at 210W average!!! I could barely walk the next morning...
