Started the process of exchanging my UK driving licence for a German one. Very simple but I'll lose the small lorry and coach entitlements, I'd need to have medicals, both here and in the UK. I don't see a circumstance that I might need to drive a small lorry as an amateur.

Realised that to activate my bank cards on said phone required the CCV codes, of which I have no clue.

Walked 20 mins back up the hill, set up cards, walked 20mins back.

Sat waiting for a train in the very pleasant weather, and for some reason the nursery rhyme 'The Grand Old Duke of York' keeps playing in a loop in my head. :D

In addition to getting my steps in before 9am, I woke up this morning, having spent the weekend laying new felt shingles on the summerhouse roof in the rather warm weather to find that my hips ache like git, presumably because I spent too long either kneeling or squatting.

Age is a bastard. :x

First stage of glueing, thin bead of thickened epoxy in each of the joints before temporarily joining the hull and deck together with tape.

Yambo?

He popped in on the depression thread very recently.

Yep. One and the same.

IIRC Funners did a very similar build around the time lock down first happened.

Today, cut holes in the deck, took boat apart, fibreglassed the interior, put boat back together again, permanently.

Did some early physio, actually saw my neighbour for a change!! And for an even bigger change he actually rode his Z1000 to work instead of leaving it parked up !!

Did paperwork n stuff and a lot of trying to be positive.

Then a friend came to see me about 15:30 - we used to work together and she likes speaking english, so I get to chat in English for a change :)

But also, we haven't seen each other for months, probably before the winter!! We both started to feel hungry around the same time - it was 19:00

Couldn't believe we'd chatted for so long, but it was brilliant. More empathy for me missing bikes than people that have know me for 5-10 years

So, I'm not really positive yet but getting there!!

Oh, and she has also taken my cycle with her - to keep! In all honesty I'm never going to cycle on something that actually goes anywhere, can't for at least 6 months or more anyway, so might as well give it to someone that will use it !! It does need a bit of a refurb, but that'll still be cheaper than her having to buy a cycle :) :) :)
Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!! :bblonde:

Used a hot stapler on the GPz750 fairing. Quite easy to use after I got the initial fuck up out of the way...

I'm tempted to paint it black below the lower chine, flame red between there and the next chine with a white accent line, in line with the 5JJ R1 colour scheme and varnish the hull which is a combination of sapele and okoume.

The alternative is varnish the whole boat, it is likely to be good enough but models I've seen appear to have 'too much wood' IYKWIM

I'm torn between floating down the nearest river to the coast then navigating my way around the coast vs putting the roof bars on the car and strapping the boat on top then driving home...

 ;) :D

Buy a pair of J bars for the roof rack, canoes are quite easily deformed by too much tension on the straps.
