Visited the GPz750... Noticed the right clip on is bent & the plate that goes between the frame tubes above the battery is missing.. & the two holes for the bolts that hold the plate in place have snapped off bolts in them...

Re: '83 GPz750-A1 malarkey.
Now, choices..
Option one: Do I put the news pods on the GPz750...
Option two: Put them on the ZRX11 & take the ones on the ZRX11 & put them on the GPz750?
I'm tempted to put the new ones on the ZRX with the spiffy green filter oil I have, so extra green on the ZRX11 making it even faster...

Re: '83 GPz750-A1 malarkey.
Dismantled three brake calipers (fronts & the rear are the same). Had previously ordered rebuild kits without the pistons.. however, I need the pistons...
Bugger.
Gonna order three new kits WITH the pistons (FFS).. & I guess I now own 3 rebuild kits for the '83 GPz11 which has the same brake calipers etc.
Calipers, mounts & other gubbins had three 30 min sessions in the ultrasonic. Calipers were originally anodized, but that's all faded to shit on the exposed surfaces (which is why the rear caliper is still dark). May paint them, or install as is...undecided.
bluergh... Can't understand why people reuse the same solution in ultrasonics for weeks, all that snarge on the bottom decreases the efficiency of the machine.. but they save maybe 10c on detergent, the cheap fucks.

You're in the desert, right? Anodising loominum parts is essential if they'll ever see salt, but maybe optional where you are.
They'll look nicer if they match each other though.

They use grit, not salt on the roads here when it gets icy or snows. If I go with caliper paint they'll most likely end up silver.A_morti wrote: Thu Jul 02, 2026 2:59 pm You're in the desert, right? Anodising loominum parts is essential if they'll ever see salt, but maybe optional where you are.

We don't get proper snow very often on the desert floor, altho the local mountains get several feet every year & the freeway to LA sometimes get closed. That kid in the pic is 29 now...
