Long over-due oil/filter change on the ZRX11. It was a time issue, not mileage. I think the last change was 2024...

Re: What have you done today thread?
Finally dragged the bike out of the container in lives in. Haven't ridden it since about Feb, for a variety of reasons, including the fact it was covered in shit and needed an MOT.
Anyway dragged it out and it won't start. No wories, I have the technology in a jump starter gadget. Yes, works a treat, starts instantly, and dies. Repeat, same result. After much swearing I found that yes, it starts the motor but the dead battery can't sustain it and takes current from the jump battery that cuts itself off after 20 seconds. Eventually found that reving to around 5k provides enough amps to keep it all running. So standing there holding 5k whilst watching the temp gauge like a hawk for 20 mins or so.
It worked! Bike washed and passed it's MOT but it now has a confirmed rat bike look about it having suffered by being stored covered in wet shit.

Rode across half the UK to Ashford, including filtering around half the M25, ready for the chunnel in the morning.

Got out on the bike this evening for an hour.
Been a long time, but was a very welcome ride around the back roads, including an unexpected 3 figure blast up the A3 when i merged onto it right behind a guy on (I think) a black GSXR or similar. Was good to be reminded what biking is all about.

Gave the V-Strom a good cleaning and lubed the chain. Iced down beer and sodas for a gathering we'll be hosting tomorrow. Outside. Rain in the forecast, dammit. Just got home from supervising a young vet doing a perineal urethrostomy on blocked cat. She did an awesome job on the surgery and gained a bit of confidence.

Re: What have you done today thread?
I headed out to the sun with breakfast and lots of coffee as usual. But I was about an our and a half later than normal and damn it was too hot!! I had to cover my legs as after 15 mins they were about to burn! Once the sun moved and I had no shade, back inside to cool down!
Normally legs would be on show for getting a tan; today they were covered by a shirt!!!! I reckon its normally 5-10 degrees cooler when I'm out there (depending on the day!)

Not today but yesterday.
Went to State Fayre festival at Hylands Park in Chelmsford. Saw King's of Leon and a few others, one good band I'd never heard of before - Stephen Wilson Jr. A mix of Nashville country and grunge - really good.
Absolute pain in the arse gerring out though, car park was a free for all carnage situation!

Noticed that '81 GPz11-B1 I was trying to find space for is "no longer available"...

Left Perranporth at 06:15 this morning and got home just before 13:00. Only pootling along and had a half hour or so break on the M4. Hardly changed gear until I pulled up for a break.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Plumbing, removed a bidet doodad from one growler & fitted it to another.
Minor grocery shop trip.
Removed R clip from rear axle on the '83 GPz11, loosened & re-torqued rear axle (because I wasn't sure if it was actually too tight), reinstalled the R clip.
Picked small R clip off garage floor & reinstalled it in the ZX11 rear brake torque arm (The paddock stand always knocks it out).
Found valve stem cap on garage floor, put it back on the '95 ZX11 front wheel.
Garage potter involving tool round up & put away.
Ate a cheese & onion sarnie.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Yesterday, rather than today.
In honour of its relatively clean state and new MOT status I took the bike out. Not been out for ages, partly because I had lost my mojo for biking.
Well, 200 miles later I have found it again!

Been to see the surgeon, kinda confused and refused to be signed off for another three months, reduced to one more month - for now
Then to the wifi shop, I hadn't checked opening hours, they don't open MOnday mornings

I did get a cheap parasol so when the temps go down a bit, I can sit in the shade comfortably
Now crossing fingers thumbs etc - dentist later

Dropped by the hearing aid place, discovered the one the dog destroyed is covered under warranty so will only be deaf for a couple of weeks

Worked from home. Had 2 meetings cancelled, decided to trim the 10m of rosemary bush in the front garden and then cut down a sycamore tree...wore a hat but forgot to put sun cream on.
