It is! I have ridden for multiple days in 30+ temperatures and it is a life saver.

At the moment, London is similar temperatures to where I live in Spain. There a WhatsApp group for the locals I go out with, this morning they're planning a day out before it gets too hot.
Re: Surviving the heat
Me & Mrs McSatan went for a breakfast ride this morning, about 40 miles to the Butcher's Hook cafe. It was already 26 degrees when we left at 0800. She has this 'cool' shirt thing that you soak in water, put in the fridge in a pouch and leave for a few hours. You'd think you'd get soaked when you put it on under a jacket but somehow miraculously you don't, and it keeps you nice and cool.

The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Pretty much convinced myself that one major advantage of a leccy bike in traffic would be so much less heat from the engine, it felt like my legs were on fire sat astride the CBF in London stationery traffic.

The BMW K bikes have a thermostat-operated cooling fan. Horrible when it switched on

VFR is the same. And the vents from the side radiators are perfect for cooking you.Horse wrote: Wed Jun 24, 2026 6:26 pmBlimey, yes.Dickyboy wrote: Wed Jun 24, 2026 5:48 pm Pretty much convinced myself that one major advantage of a leccy bike in traffic would be so much less heat from the engine, it felt like my legs were on fire sat astride the CBF in London stationery traffic.
