Whoops, I Did it Again!
Whoops, I Did it Again!
I accidentally bought another Diavel. A Gen 2 this time. I traded in the first one for a Zero, which is still faster than this Diavel, but it's three years old now and has just had its first MOT, and I miss having a cartoon bike with a 240 section back tyre, ear splitting Termignonis, and the scary way you have to consciously counter steer and go "MOAR POWAR!" to get round mini roundabouts and very tight bends. Also, if there's one thing cancer has taught me (apart from a deep love of opioids) it's that there are no pockets in a shroud

Looks bloody gorgeous

Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!!

No, I've let it all grow out (hair and beard) back to ghrey. I tried to dye it green before the blue was properly gone and ended up with a fetching shade of turquoise. I'd rather be bald than old/normal, haven't decided on what colour yet. Possibly yellow. Not blonde, bright fluorescent yellowTaipan wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2026 2:29 pm Epic bike, and i've always wanted one. Good to see you getting a bit zesty* about things too. * I've never been not zesty. Just incapable

I'd respond with a cutting remark but, that's probably the highlight of your day so I'll hold my tongue.

I still have my Gen 1 - it has probably got to the point where it’s not really worth selling it !

Ach sorry, I was trying to be funny as well. It's only funny when it's not
Re: Whoops, I Did it Again!
And neither should you! If I hadn't had a test ride on a Zero I'd still have mine. Despite the Zero being the best bike in the world, I've mumped and moaned about missing the noise and the drama of the Diavel for three years, to the point where my darling wife made me buy oneMr Moofo wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2026 3:16 pm I still have my Gen 1 - it has probably got to the point where it’s not really worth selling it !

The issue I have with those Drivels is they look like they weight 1500lb.
Re: Whoops, I Did it Again!
About 500lbs. Less than my CBX750. The weight's all low down, so easy to ride.ZRX61 wrote: Sat Jun 20, 2026 3:41 pm The issue I have with those Drivels is they look like they weight 1500lb.

Re: Whoops, I Did it Again!
I'd have one, except a back injury means I have a problem with sitting bolt upright for any length of time. Some bikes I'm ok with, but in general a slight lean forward is safest.
Re: Whoops, I Did it Again!
I’d go steady if I were you, I always thought that there was a whiff of the ghey about the Diavel and you wouldn’t want to get caught outside a public convenience on one dressed in leather and with a designer beard, unless it’s a Brian Blessed tribute event, but even then you might find yourself on the wrong end of an awkward encounter.
I hear they’re surprisingly good to ride though.

Re: Whoops, I Did it Again!
A couple of years back I used to see one on the ride to work. He rode it like he'd stole it! It was about a month before I caught him at the lights to find out what it was! Sounded glorious with its Termis on.
