Plan for the weekend is fit one set of rails to the GPz11...& maybe assemble the carbs depending on how hard the paint is.

Started carb assembly today, ended up raiding the spare set for the floats, a couple of the caps & some hardware.

Two new key blanks arrived & another fuel tap just so I could use the plastic filter doodad from it.

Tomorrow:
Decided to paint the mounting rails & some other bits with Steel-It instead of the gloss black epoxy. Going to use that stuff on the rear brake lever too.

Emptied out the tumbler this morning to see if I missed any parts in there... it's like picking fly shit out of pepper. The media is 8mm stainless steel pins

Threw another load in there for 3 hours.

Carb rails & brake lever got the Steel-It treatment this morning. Lever looking spiffy... other bits just got turned over & painted on the other side, so they still sitting in the Sun :)

Have to be a bit quick with this paint as it comes out of the rattle can like a frigging fire hose. :crazy:

Rear brake pivot doodad also just got the Steel-It treatment, currently hanging on a piece of welding wire outside in the sun.

Finished the tumbling...well, for now. They'll be more hardware from the fairing, front fender, footpeg mounts etc when those parts get pulled off the bike.

There's duplicates in this pile as some parts are from the spare set of carbs. Ferinstance, the thicker idle screw is from the original carbs & the thinner one is from the spare set, as are a lot of the screws.

It comes out the rattlecan so frigging fast you'd think there's going to be runs, ripples & orange peel etc, but it smooths out perfectly. It's not exactly cheap, a rattle can of this stuff was $41. But that one can has done a some GPz750 parts, the brake plates, rear axle & pumpkin on the F350 & there's still plenty left in the can.

Front footpeg mounts got Steel-It...Shift lever gubbins will get the same as it's kinda rusty & tatty looking.
