Usually with customs and the like we have moans about the space where the airbox should be, with that Malanca there's a space where the engine should be!

I took my bike for its MoT test this afternoon, to the little backstreet place I've used for years. It failed because of the numberplate, the same 8x6 one that's been on it for about 5 years
Apparently the testing requirements changed on April 1st this year to include the plate

At least now you'll have a plate for next time.Druid wrote: Thu Jun 04, 2026 4:16 pm I took my bike for its MoT test this afternoon, to the little backstreet place I've used for years. It's been dark clouds of doom for most of the day & tomorrow doesn't look much better.I nipped out for a evening spin on the 650X

The SV650X is due its MOT before the end of the month so I'm wating for a sunny day to get it done

Gonna cheat here and put last time I rode on track.
Yes, they're in racing, but I'm too excited to care.

A bit more like June, so a ride round the place, was all fine until I hit the busy traffic!!
First stop for ice cream:)

Next rest stop...just before Grasmere, where it got busy, a car show, Windermere marathon and some swimming event, plus it's a June Sunday with no rain, what was I thinking!!

Then this photo from yesterday (was on a different bike;) 'Britannic Explorer' at Grange station, I had no idea so looked it up, 3-4 day Lakes experience with food and drink 5* I imagine, as prices for a cabin start from £6,200

Did a charity gathering/run today in aid of kids with terminal illnesses. For once the weather gods smiled upon us and £2625 was raised.
Some lovely machinery. Pic heavy post warning!

Re: When/Where/Pics was the last time you rode your bike ?
Went down to Melrose for lunch. Crossed over to take the A68 south what was fine. Had lunch and decided to go through Galashiels and head north on the A7. On the exit of Gala was a road sign that said road closed. Decided to ignore it as was other drivers. Next village another sign and again next village. We decided to see if this is just access shit as you tend to be able to go through some with caution. Got to this bus stop and the road was shut over with police tape so presumed a fatal. Back tracked for a couple of miles and found a cracking single track road that links the A7 to the A68. Up and down hills. lots of twisty single track sections with good vision what was a joy to ride.

I took the SV650X to my mates tyre shop for a new pair of Road 6's.

I got 6100 miles out of the factory fitted Dunlops. We thought that I could get another 2K out of the rear & more out of the front tyre, but if my next Euro trip happens I'll be hitting the 2K mark whilst I'm away so I got the tyres swapped over today.

Nice little bimble on the noisy monkey this afternoon, warm sausage roll and tea as usual. Very warm out there with part-time cloud, lovely.

and that be the river servern near Ironbridge.

Took the wife to a local bike meet id never been to before. The Old George/Wheels Cafe at Sykehouse.
It's about 20 miles from my house, just the right distance for a two up trip on the beeza to the pub for a shandy.
Quite a good turn out, tho the place emptied at 8pm for some reason
I only got a pic of the central court yard, there was lots of bikes outside, but by the time I was leaving there wasn't any left to take a pic of.

Little run to Norbury junction, a canal boat yard, cafe and pub in one. Met up with a grom from Stone. Good fun on the narrow lanes.

First day out in a week. Good to get a break from the endless rain.
