It turns out that I missed some of the bearings - the pair in the freehub are proper grumbly which after over 2 years of riding is unsurprising, and of all the different bearings that I've accumulated over the years these are not in there - 15x24x5.

Thats an unusual size. Mine are either 15267 or 18287

I think one of them corresponds to a 3902.

Funnily I replaced one yesterday for the boys fuel. I need to do the others too

its a DT swiss freehub with a 'different' type of ratchet to the usual 3 pawl stylee.
It's one of these..

to be fair, it's been extremely reliable and I've only taken it apart once to clean it, and when I popped it open tonight it was still pretty clean in there other than the grease from one of the bearings had come out and coated everything.

Yeah I've seen them but apart from 1 paddock swap after beers, I've not done any others. I'm not even sure who's wheel it was
