Gotta say the brakes on the GSXS work but they are very wooden. Was going to change pads at somepoint but I'm a skinflint and other things have got in the way
The Brembos on the front have always been very good. I like the feel and the power. The rear brake feels like it's a mismatch of master cylinder for the caliper,it's never been good, but it's been worse recently. I expected the old fluid to be dirty, but it was still pretty clear, though after 20k it probably was a good idea to change it anyway.

It's raining now,so I haven't been out to check them out.
Late thread reply.

The new fluid has helped a little, but it'll take more drastic action to make it what I would call good. Serviceable.

The Zed is 4 years old,so went through it's first mot today, all I changed was the reg plate.. :silent:

26k miles on the Zed now,so I had another look at the front brake pads. I'd say I got my money's worth.
I changed to Brembo and surprisingly after a test run I had great brakes from the word go. I was expecting a few miles bedding in at least.

I've been surprised how much pad I have left after 11k miles, maybe I shouldn't be!

Which Brembo pad did you go with? My brother put the SA pads in his Ninja 1000SX and really likes them, I was thinking of a set although spendy. The SBS street ones are the other's I've in mind. This is only for a bit more bite/feel though, seems like I could get another 50% out of the OE, but they are 'fine' if you know what I mean rather than great.

New Michelin Road 6 on the arse end today. £192 fitted, which is 20 quid dearer than the last one. Hey ho.

5726 miles out of it,but it was slightly illegal by that stage. :silent:

The bike rolls lovely once again, though the Road 6 still perform well even when totally gubbed.
