Re: What have you done today thread?
Well, I've no idea what bus timetable I was looking at - I walked up the piste (for almost an hour!!) and as I arrived at the chalet, the sodding bus pulled up!! I didn't need to walk all that way!
But, actually it was really good. I was knackered but I have more movement in my legs/hips today than I expected!! Turns out that my normal walk keeps my feet closer together than the snowshoes 'like' - so most steps I was scraping the two snowshoes together. Really weird trying to walk and keep my feet apart far enough not to knock the shoes!! LOL
Awesome food, great company - got to spend time with one of my oldest friends here. Normally he's working like a loon all the time (chef in a busy restaurant) so never get to chat.
Then I spent far too long online chatting and so will probably need a snooze later!! LOL

Life is for living. Buy the shoes. Eat the cake. Ride the bikes. Just, ride the bikes!!

Had a go on an Oculous VR set. Bloody impressive bit of kit, particularly as I was brought up on Manic Miner and Pac Man.

Managed a brief session in the shed of little power.
Spent as much time getting the fire going as "doing".
Tidying didnt get a look in. Discovered that the Viceroy WILL fire without the silencer, though it isn't blocked. Battery is a bit crook, so I gave up and came in, encouraged by one of the girl cats crying outside the garage door. Seems if they know I am in there the cat flap is too much effort.

Took the wife out on the BRB, she likes the seat and the foot pegs, she wants a top box as a back rest/safety net.

Unblocked the kitchen/utility drain. Luckily just the outside bit where leaves and other clag had collected in the grating.

Boxing day left over pizza.
I've been improving my sourdough technique through 2020 and it's paying dividends in my Pizza.

It was a lovely day so we decided to head up into the hills with Penny's musical pals. After the heavy rain at start of the month, the island is quite green. It's usually cooler in the hills, but was still lovely and warm
Then a few beers in a beach bar where they had silly beer glasses

Re: What have you done today thread?
Cleared up after yesterday, had a few beers, walked the dog then beat the future daughter in law at Monopoly. That wouldnt be something i would normally mention except for the following reasons
A) She never loses at Monopoly
B) I hate playing it so normally give up as i get bored
C) She never ever loses at Monopoly
D) I have never seen her so quiet at Monopoly while watching her property empire vanish tonight

Re: What have you done today thread?
Went to the RockStore, then a hoon down Encinal Cyn in the Camaro where my driving style apparently caused two drivers to pull over to get out of the way, one of which was some youngin' in a Scooby WRX Then up PCH, hit the beach next to the rifle range at Pt Mugu, inland to Camarillo for lunch. Then drove home, 97 miles in an hour & 9 minutes. Really liking this lack of traffic due to the lockdown

Just did it ...for a few minutes I couldn't work out which way it went as I forgot the strap goes on the inside of the foot peg.Taipan wrote: ↑Sun Dec 27, 2020 9:42 amThe Fakeropvic? I used exhaust paste and proper clamps - the previous time the springs were too slack so I got the right size clamp.
Fired it up and no more leaks from the can end .
Nice gentle duff duff sound and looks the part .
Ran it up to temp and I'll go for a spin tomorrow .

Walked 50 metres to work again. Twice, because I forgot to take all I needed the first time.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Today, just 2 of us for an enduro ride, but straight away I saw a dude on a big Yam trailie thing, looking a bit lost, so I invited him along. When I met Mark at the petrol station, it turned out this dude was Czech and had ridden the bike over. So we took it easy for a bit and he handled it OK. He didn't have any armour, so we didn't want to be responsible for any damage.
At the first drink stop, it turns out that he's a freelance bike journalist, specialising in long term bike reviews. Also a pro cameraman and film maker.
So we upped it a little, but still steady (ish)
When we got into the big sand dunes, he was trying the big hills that we were doing. Failed of course coz of the weight and the road based tyres, but he kept plugging away
He took some pics of us, and said he'd send them later.
When we all got back here for a beer, he said that next time he'd bring all his pro gear and do a film of me an Mark
I'll still talk to you when I'm famous
