Tenerife 4 Days in March

Post by Yorick »

Got a few pals from Fuerteventura who often come over here for enduro tours. Last time they mentioned a road bike trip to Tenerife. They're all gonna fly over and hire shite like Harleys and Triumph Bobbers :obscene-birdiedoublered: They all had road bikes in UK

Anyway it's all a arranged :) 19th to 24th March

Ferries to island hop are a pain in the arse. Only 2 ferries from GC to Tenerife. But just booked the whole trip overnight for €120 with cabin.
Sail 6 PM from Arrecife and land Tenerife 10:30 so get extra half day riding

Still trying to figure out a route home ;)

Supposed to be sailing 6:30 tonight
But just got message to say it'll be 10:30 now due to rough seas sailing from Cadiz

Fark. Must have been bad for the passengers

So this will fuck up meeting them at their bike pickup :(

Supposed to land 10:30 but will be 4 hours late

It's got nothing to do with 84 earthquakes in 2 days (according to UK rags)?

Just 3 on today's ride in the mountains. I'd forgotten how insane the mountain roads are :obscene-birdiedoublered:

The roads and scenery here are stunning.
We did a local nutter road earlier and hardly got out of second gear
Insane :D
More bikes than cars.
Then up to the forests in the north.
Went to almost 3,000' and still 18c

Views are amazing but having to much fun to stop

Tonight beer and curry

5 Yorkshire blokes and 2 southern softies :D

It's been a fantastic few days. There's been a huge storm hovering over the Canaries for a few days and caused damage on several islands.
It's been were every day in the south but we've escaped it all

Had to divert a bit today but nothing serious.

Next trip is Gran Canaria :)

There was a lot of exhaust/revlimiter action in the tunnels :obscene-birdiedoublered:

Safely on ferry to Gran Canaria. Only 90 mins then ride across the island to where the ferry goes from, to Fuerteventura.

No more ferries today so booked a nice hotel in Las Palmas and 9:30 ferry tmrw to Fuerteventura.

Will be home mid afternoon 😀

Damp 45 mind ride over to other side of island.
Same after I arrived on G.C.

Must have just missed big storm as landslide and flood partially blocked the motorway.

Fairing and waterproof kept my dry. The Oxford panniers come with big waterproof covers which did their job.

5 mins ride to 9:30 ferry tmrw
