Amflow/ DJI really have got something right, whether that's the bikes themselves being really good or the Marketing dept being good? They've literally been around for 2.5- 3 yrs.

IT's fairly simple at the moment. Amflow have tapped into the MORE MORE MORE bracket of fairly newbie MTBers. A LOT of the market buying them are middle aged blokes who didn't get into it until Covid hit. But they've come often from MX/motorbikes and jumped feet first into MTBing.... but they want more power, more speed and the DJI/Avinox gives that. They're also reasonably light for an eeb and reasonably cheap for an eeb too. So it ticks pretty much all the boxes.
The only box is doesn't really tick is being a great bike... It's a Chinese catalogue bike/mould. It's OK... but it doesn't really do anything particularly great... apart from going fast in terms of accelleration.

I'm still waiting to see how the support side of things go with them, the failure rates and how that's dealt with by dealers.

However due to the restrictions they're still only a 16mph bike, they just get there quicker...

Be interesting to see how they stack up these days. My EMTB is a 2019 Haibike Xduro Allmtn 3 with a bosch cx motor and 500 kw battery (not anywhere near what most people seem to be riding £ or spec wise). It was cheapish at the time and obviously not top spec'd. Heavy bugger too, saying that the bikes these days only seem to knock a couple of kilos off.

I have wondered about upgrading but having lost touch a bit with the whole ebike thing, I'd have no idea what to replace it with or how much I'd have to spend. I'm not even sure mine is currently working tbh. Bit sad I guess.

The thing with the weight is a weird one on MTBs. 25kg to 21kg may only be 4kg, but the difference is HUGE, in the same way a 16kg to 13kg manual bike is HUGE difference. But it arguably shouldn't be that significant a figure... somehow though it is.

You sound more like a cyclist every day, newbies on Chinese bikes are ruining my sport, wasn’t like this in the 90’s when we were all riding clunkers was it ? Dunno like you I’ve come from motorbikes to mtb’s although I have nearly always had one since the 90’s 🤣

See, the other thread about ebike power, if the states are proposing regulating how long before the UK follows suit.

Only needs some middle aged bloke with a derestricted ebike to flatten a kid.

Derestricted bikes don’t go much if any faster on most trails, it’s a shame we don’t have the 20mph limit then at least us middle aged folk could keep up with the young uns on xc bikes, the 15mph limit means they just pull away 🤣

So got out the Amflow over the weekend……well the wife did, I put a kids ride shotgun seat on the other bike for the littlest one we went for a ride (she bloody loves its and is 18 months old) wife does not want to cycle with her.

I managed 1.5km on the Amflow, bastard bit me though, put it into turbo and tried to wheelie, nearly flipped it and the pedals left there mark on my leg….. 🤣🤣🤣

I am off tomorrow and the wife got the car so I’ll head to ashstead common and explore for a few hours whilst the kids are at school.

So currently out on it. Love it

Need to raise the seat and move it forward (I think)

So far trail mode is loads of fun,
I see what some one was saying about the drag once you hit top speed, I’d love to go full power but not enough to void the warranty….. unless some one does it and provides a warranty 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Brakes need to bed in, they seem to build rather than instant bite, but I had read about that.

So far all gravy

So i did 25km today…. It’s loads of fun, it’s like a low powered MX bike, loads of fun getting the rear sliding in mud, bombing up little hills.

Impressed, it got very muddy though.

So did 31km today around Ranmore with a mate who rides a Trek rail.

I tell you what this Amflow is mad, its so planted, you point and it goes, its so far ahead of my skill level, but its inspires loads of confidence, its a lot lot more fun to ride that my whyte t140s. I did the fill 31km in trail mode (1 under boost) and got home with 26% battery remaining. Not bad considering i could i used less assistance to get more from it, i think my legs and arms were going to give up before the battery run out,
