Progress, and the bloody european chemical agency making everything iphone and kiddy friendly.
FFS they've gone from a functional website with an easy to use table where you can have a decent amount of entries on one page;
to a new bubbly soft pile o wank where you can only see 3 entries, and it's 3 clicks to find the specific points / legislation instead of one;

Terrible story, she was caught up in two mass shootings.
But:
A 16-year-old boy shot her in the stomach and four others; two of them died including her best friend.
How many stomachs does that girl have?![]()

An astronomer has captured what is believed to be the first video recording of a lunar impact flash on the island of Ireland, according to Armagh Observatory and Planetarium (AOP).
A lunar impact on Ireland? Really ... ?![]()
Aaargh ... Yes, we all have torches down the side of our properties.
Perhaps:

Two things -
It seems I can't drive a car in snow - big vehicles = no issues : my car? Bloody useless!! (Must remember how to turn off the traction control, but don't think that's the only reason!!)
But, as a result, when I was coming down the mountain I drove pretty slowly (and stayed behind the guy in front that was going even slower than I wanted!!) - I pulled over to let a couple of locals go past at mad speed!!
Then, randomly the guy I was following (at a decent distance cos he was less happy than me!) had to stop - because stooopid BMW driver was stopped in the middle of the road with his driver door open

I just hung back and left him to get moving again (other nervous driver went on by) and followed with even more distance now!
He got properly sideways on the first roundabout at the bottom of the mountain and then, we got close to where I needed to turn him off, he had his arm out the window - a wiper had got loose so he grabbed it.
Then sadly turned into the road I live on, which wasn't ploughed, and just fing stopped
I mean, seriously. I know he wants to stop, but kinda sensible to at least pull over in case there were other vehicles behind him
Missed him and parked at my place!!! But, added on top of me not being able to drive my car up the mountain on the snow, I dislike other car drivers even more than usual

Shitty banking systems
Payday is the 10th. Nothing has landed in my account - I'm guessing because it's a Saturday. Which is pretty shitty really given a couple of big payments go out on the 10th (I know, I should change them to the 11th)

Don't know if work fcked up or if my bank doesn't accept money transfers on a weekend
(guess if it hasn't arrived today, I'm guessing it won't arrive tomorrow
)

We get paid on the 27th but it always gets paid earlier if the 27th falls on the weekend. I think thats the norm for most companies, so employees direct debits are met etc.

TBH, that's what I had expected. I can't remember if it was here or in the uk that someone told me that it was legally necessary for them to do that - need to find out cos it's a bit shit!Taipan wrote: Sat Jan 10, 2026 5:41 pm We get paid on the 27th but it always gets paid earlier if the 27th falls on the weekend. Just how the mid-50s male body bloats after a couple of weeks of holiday living, despite trying to be sensible and doing plenty of walking and gym sessions.

Day off and jobs to do but I'm full of lurgey and it's pissing down. I know if I start anything it'll end in disaster so I'm slacking on the sofa getting judgemental stares from the dogs as their walk is postponed/cancelled until the rain stops.

People who insist on coming to work despite coughing and snotting all over the place when they could easily work from home.
Unfortunately, I'm sitting next to one of those people today.

Amen to that. I refuse to attend on site meetings with anyone that has decided to come in and spread their germs around.McNab wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 9:06 am People who insist on coming to work despite coughing and snotting all over the place when they could easily work from home.

It totally boiled mine too - and it still does when you're confronted by a coughing, sniffling, sneezing 'I really had to pop out to the shops for some Jammy Dodgers, a jar of piccalilli and a bag of Werthers' types in the shops.McNab wrote: Mon Jan 19, 2026 9:06 am People who insist on coming to work despite coughing and snotting all over the place when they could easily work from home.

The workplace one is inexcusable. If they turned up and punched you in the face they'd get sacked - I put infecting you (knowing that they're sick) in the same category. My 'flame-on' rants at staff who proudly snuffled 'Well, I struggled in' were near-legendary as was the boot up the backside as I invited them to leave the building - suggesting they don't use public transport to get home.
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

If it's no more than a cold then that ain't a reason to call in sick, sure work from home if you can / are allowed, but for those that have to go into a place of work a sniffle isn't reason enough to not go in.

One person's 'sniffle' is another person's man flu...

Currently having this debate with myself.
I'm reasonably sure I have a virus, but I'm not "ill" . I'm bloody knackered for no reason and had some headaches, but that's it. But that's how I've felt with viruses in the past
. And, I've been doing two days of transfers each week to a bus full (or half full!) of tourists that are often coughing and spluttering behind me
But, I'm not ill, so can't stay home. I have stopped "bisous-ing" colleagues but TBF, by the time I feel like this I suspect the contagious time has passed !!
Hey ho
