Then it did come on and I scanned it and found out it was the CPS. Only one bolt and connector but it was bloody fiddly to do with my big fat sossie fingers as it was tucked up behind the driveshaft!!
Wonder why my garage didn't find it if that was the issue with mine? They'd been pretty good up until then. Used them for a few years on the Volvo and a couple of other cars.

You might have expected them to make the necessary deduction though, ie seen it before. They're a local outfit but very experienced. Won awards and stuff. MoT centre etc etc. Maybe it just wouldn't misbehave when they had it, although they had to tow it off my drive.

Still, someone figured it out according to the tax/mot records! One of the younger mechanics probably had it.

It was time for it to go really, but I wanted to hit 'moon miles' before it did. :(

You'd think a good garage would have had a clue and its not an expensive part as such, so they could have suggested it as a educated guess? But maybe, given the high mileage, they saw it from the POV that it wasn't worth spending on?

Case in point; My Son had a 118i BMW that kept going into limp mode but again with no codes initially. The local german car specialists (well respected) did suggest some things to us to try, but didn't work, injectors etc, and it turned out to be the relucter rings on the driveshafts! Sadly we ended up with a £1400 bill, of which at least £500 was for parts it didn't need. We authorised the work as it was a £10k car and couldn't exactly be scrapped. What was really annoying was I was relaying this tale to some mates, but before I got to the cause my mate told me what it was and said ffs they should have known that as its a common fault! D'oh!

I Can't Find My Rolling Pin 🤬🤬🤬

Finally had enough arm to bake - plan was bread and then gingerbread men/stars/stuff

Can't find the bastarding rolling pin 🤬🤬 - yes I know, could use a bottle, but not ideal for stuff I'm doing for gifts :(

How can I lose a bloody great marble rolling pin 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬

Absolute radio after midnight. They have been playing Christmas songs a lot what in itself is bad but the majority of them have been covers for the past week or so. Bloody shit covers at that.

Make sure the bottle is empty and you won't care how the gifts turn out. :D

OK. I'll bite: Have you looked down the back of the sofa?
It'll be in the last place you look, so look there first.

Is it uncomfortable when you sit down?

If it is, the rolling pin may be in your back pocket.

Is it really enjoyable when you sit down?

No...we're not going there at this time of day.

Knobheads. Special Knobheads. We have one next door.

Neighbours are lovely and great friends. But their knobhead son comes out twice a year for a month.
He fleeced me out of some money awhile ago, so extra knobhead points.

They have a marvellous party on beach every Xmas and rich son pays for it all.

He let's us know as often as possible :(

Today he was holding court as usual letting us all know how his business is doing well and how much he's making.
I bite my tongue as his mum is a dear friend.

Suddenly he starts to talk about analogue bikes and leaves us all baffled. Daren't interrupt

After a while he explained that new bikes are electrical and digital so obviously ordinary bikes are analogue.

Then he regales us with tales of his cycling prowess in his youth.

I'm heading round to the house in a mo for more beer, Xmas pudding and mince pies

Taking the dog as a distraction :obscene-birdiedoublered:

That lasted 20 mins :obscene-birdiedoublered:

10 mins of him lecturing us about white wine.
Then he started playing Battleships with a pal and another 10 mins explaining the intricacies and tactics of the game.

Then his mum gave my little Ozzy a squeaky toy which everyone loved.
Oh no, not him. Walked over and took it off him as it was annoying him

I just got up and walked out. His mum was very apologetic but I know we'll be okay once he's gone home

Explorer ST is in the shop since Monday for front/leftt drive shaft replacement as the boot tore & threw grease all over. plus 3 TPS were out.
"It'll be ready Friday"

After several call over the past 4 fucking hours that got nowhere I decided to just drive over there, it's less than 2 miles away. :angry-cussingblack:

I mention the earlier phone calls... & the fact it sounded like I was dealing with a Pakistan call center... :eh:
"Oh those call go to the Philipines"
and then you hear nothing?
"Exactly"
Is the boss around?, I'd like to stick my foot in his ass :angry-cussingblack:
"San Bernadino, head office"

ST was on the rack being worked on, they're sending an Uber to pick me up at 5pm.

That is so common on the 7.3 Powerstrokes that some drivers have a spare hanging from the rear view mirror. Mine is in the glove box.

Common as muck on my old Volvo. Every day the bastard would do this. Let it cool and life was good again. Changed sensor and it was like a new car. shame the chassis was rotten.
