If the question is "what's a better trackbike than a zx6r?"

Post by weeksy »

With a few extra criteria thrown in.

Then what's the answer?

1. Traction Control required
2. Not 1000cc / 150+ bhp
3. Sportsbike
For me, I see it as a list of

Ducati 899 panigale
2013+ zx6r
2918+ Yamaha R6
MV Agusta F800

But what else am I missing and why.

Plus, out of that list, which are you picking and why?

Look at it another way. What does she dislike about the ZX6R?

Nothing at all, she'll have owned it 3 years soon and just time to try something new with some more mod cons too.

KTM engines too, so a double win :)

The new 'budget' one is only $15,000 USD

EDIT:

There's a UK website too, you only need £16k for the 690 EVO 2S... 80bhp and 125kg!

I don't care if it's road, race, track. It just needs to tick the criteria.

Currently topping the list

It's an interesting question. One I don't think we'll find out the answer to.

IME, that bit more power helps. Rather than hinders. Of course there's a limit to that.
On the XSR I can stay with her, but on the 690 I couldn't, not even close, the extra power of the XSR ours me in a position where I can ride less hard for a faster lap time.

Out of that list i would have the 2918 R6, I'm sure by then they will be epic :)

but until then i would probably go MV, full tronics, lovely looking, good handling and the best sounding .

That's irrelevant. Whether the bike needs it or not isn't in the discussion. She wants to try a bike with modern electronics, from QS to traction, to abs. Whether someone else needs it to go faster isn't open to discussion.

200bhp 1000, you try and persuade her. Let me know how that goes for you.

Take 1 of the spark plugs out  150bhp bike.

No need to thank me for that top tip.
