Springs and oil might be okay for a road use upgrade, but if you're tracking it, then you'll want the lot. However, as KFB says, it probably going to go soon anyway, so best do nowt!

Shhssh, listen, Weeksy.. Weeksy.. come to me Weeksy... https://www.premierbikes.com/used-bikes ... /64659.htm
I've used it on track at Pembrey and Silverstone. But i'm not convinced apart from Portimao i'll be doing much in the way of track.

LOL the MT-10 isn't incoming at all matey. As i've said before, the only thing i'd swap the XSR for is a 790 to get the better track/electronics. However, you do lose a certain amount of potential reliability doing that which i'm not prepared to do.
I hear ya. I did have a 790 on my radar at one point, as I was intrigued my the electrics - blippers, q/shifters etc, but I don't seem to have much luck with KTMs and the 790 seems to be having more problems than most other models, so yeah, sticking with the XSR does make sense, ergo so would chucking money at it to improve its suspension, but then you don't seem to have problem with it? Maybe just start with the springs and oil then?

It almost sounds to me as if you need a... Street Triple? The RS ones come with posh bouncy bits and arguably more reliable than a KTM. Though probably not a yam.

If it were me and I didn't have a problem with it, then I'd leave it. Spend the money on something else that does bug you, MTB bits, or trackdays or tyres or nice night out with the Mrs.

But if you've for the retail therapy bug then why not. Although as other have said if you aren't keeping it for at least another year I'd not bother.

Well today may not be the most exciting update... but it's an update anyway.

Since buying it i've felt the standard pads are a bit weak, but the Brembo SAs are too strong, give too instant and harsh a bite, both GP and Tricky thought the same. So i went back to the standard pads and was met with the "Oh jeez, i've got no brakes at all " thoughts on the rides i did. Like everything, you get used to it, but i still feel i want a bit 'more' but not necessarily that much more than the Brembo SAs give.

So a set of SBS have been ordered. Lets see how they feel on there :)

I always used SBS for years as that's what my mates shop sold and I got them for either very cheap or free. Not used them in years now but never had any issues

Yeah used them plenty of times, so it's not like they're unknown to me.

I was only looking at front pads last night for the Mt09 and saw some EBC HH for £18.71 per side which was the route I was going to take but seeing those SBS I'm gonna have a think as i do like there pads usually.

Wife came into the garage as i was doing stuff in there

"why isn't there a wheel in your bike?"
"there's no forks in there either dear"
"oh why"
"they're getting rebuilt as they're made for Japanese lightweights"
"you're not that fat"

I think that was a compliment... LOL.

People get carried away on ebay. I sold a gel seat for a Speed Triple for more than I paid for it from a Triumph dealer

Well, i sent the box to Colin at 100% suspension

Then....

Chatted with Colin and he basically said "it wasn't ParcelForce's fault, it was yours."

Which is fair enough.

Tiny mark, but essentially it's all good.

Anyway, forks are rebuilt with new springs and on their way back to arrive with me tomorrow :D
