Cf moto 450

Post by ..... »

been looking at one of these, in a slightly serious way. Even to the point of having a test ride
However, once I gave it a really good going over, I couldn't get past the exhaust positioning. Its almost like they've designed it to hit the first rock you'll come across should you ever go off road, and the end can juts out wider than the rear pegs!
As for riding it, bottom end fuelling was poor, and told not to go over 6k as motor was tight. Lots of bits to break/go wrong.
You could buy an old drz4, rebuild it to rally spec and have a far better bike for the same money.

I've had a bike with that motor in before, back in the VD days.
Never in the history of engineering has an engine found so many different ways to break down and wreak internal havoc on itself.

I was up at the top of the east side of Aus on a campsite a few months back, well when I say top, at the end of the tarmac roads, when two chaps rode in on a pair of CF’s.
They and the bikes were covered in the red dust, so much so that I couldn’t tell what they were riding.
I got chatting to them and they were real hard off roaders, and had nothing but praise for the 450.

They're supposed be decent bikes these days. I saw one yesterday afternoon parked up in Alicante and it certainly looked the part.
