Coming back from my Sons place tonight and as i exited the roundabout onto a short stretch of dual carriageway, someone came flying up behind me, then backed off and came up close again. I dont normally engage in such shenanigans, but the car was in full power mode and it seemed rude not to. I floored it and left him standing! He made a good effort at ctaching up though and i backed off and slowed for the roundabout. He came alongsiode and I got the thumbsup from 2 lads in their 20s I guess. Car was some BMW 1 series with pops and bangs. Childish but fun...

They definitely do around here. Don't have the stats (not sure I can find them tbf ) but apparently the rate (level?) of breathing issues in kids in the valley area (especially from Moutiers to Bourg St Maurice) is one of the highest in France - the road between those two places is nose to tail traffic every Saturday from probably 7am till 7pm, and in both directions on probably three or four Saturdays of the season. Air pollution is very very high here

Interesting review here comparing EV, PHEV and petrol 5 series.
As a company car the leccy ones get great tax breaks but suffer big depreciation, they recommend petrol only for a private buyer.

IMHO a PHEV is great if (like Dazzler) the battery only range gets you to work and back (or to work were you can charge or to the shops, etc..) and if you do the occasional longer trip the ICE motor means less waiting around.

If you don't bother to charge (most PHEV owners never seem to) then you're just using extra fuel to lug around an empty battery.

I've driven my EV for the first time in 8 days. I'm pleased to report that it hadn't dropped any charge/range at all. Next time I'll probably use it for the airport run rather than the wife's derv (I had an irrational fear that the battery would be flat after a weeks holiday and I'd not be able to get out the car park).

It was in Jetparks 3 I parked the Wife's X2. It's only 50 miles each way for me, but being new to the EV thing I was scared. I'll not be worried next time.

I've just been given access to the company car scheme and company policy is that it has to be 100% eleccy. There's so many cars to chose from it's mind boggling.except Audi, for some reason there's none on there.

We popped into the BMW dealer this afternoon to have a look at the I4, We've had worries that it's physically too long for our drive because it is a looong car, about 450mm longer than our v40.

I've got the pre-LCI M50 (that's an LCI, you can tell my the grill).

I'm sure on a 25 plate that should be an M60 rather than a M50. The M60 is 550bhp, the M50 is ONLY 538bhp :p

Mine is mind bogglingly fast, so fast that after a few 0-100 dashes you start to fee quite ill.

Don't get one with 20inch wheels, it knocks 40 miles off the range!

All the reviews say the 40 is nicer to drive and more agile due to not having the front motor, it's still 340bhp or something.

I wouldn't know, I was sold on the 50 the first time the salesman told me to floor it.
