Sunday. 2 and a half hours drive to an archery competition. Can’t find anyone else to car share with so I’m taking the OH. She’s going to be bored stiff.

Re: Friday thread. End of August nearly
Finished slightly earlier than expected so home early enough to have a bath !! I rarely do that cos it's not the easiest to get out of with one useful arm !! But hey - I'm moving out soon and the new place doesn't have a bath
(only bad thing about the new place !! )
Sat - should get up early and go see the doc to see what we do with an arthritic thumb
(sounds stupid, but when it's on the end of the good arm, it's a bit annoying that it hurts so much
) - then go drink coffee for a bit then have to head to the valley to do a small shop for my visitors
Can't do a big shop as I can't get into the apartment till Sunday, so can only buy what I can fit in my fridge
Hoepfully meet up with some friends in the evening
Sunday - leave for Geneva at 8am to go meet family
Can't wait for them to get here and see the place in summer
Probably a fairly scenic route home, dump stuff in the apartment and then probably go for coffee/beers for the afternoon

Continuing to entertain the in-laws.
Handily they're keen on 'doing jobs' while here, so they'll be set to applying a new coat of boiled linseed oil to the workshop, trimming back the wisteria, etc.
I might see if I can clear one of the outbuildings, which is long overdue.
Might also take them to the RAF Cosford museum for a treat. Or to watch some banger racing

Failed on my first task of the weekend
and one not on the list (find my camping box so I can dig out the jetboil ) - but I have found out that my mate is DJing this afternoon at the nearest place to my temp apartment.
Given the convo about Green Day in another thread, it made me laugh that he goes by DJ Basket - in part due to actually being a basket case, in part due to the song

Malverns is always a good vibe – bikes, beer and music all in one. Hope the lad smashes his races, and happy early anniversary for Monday – don’t forget to sneak in some time for yourself too

On duty this weekend - so around the home town for most of it. Went out for a play on the Speedy yesterday (boat came off service as no crew). The work to sort out the firing on two cylinders has worked - so pleased with that.
Tried to get the rear wheel off the Diavel as the back brake needs bleeding - but once again Pro Twins have decide that 230 nm torque is not enough. So down to the local bike shop to hope they can free it off on Tuesday.
Spend most of today trying to tubeless a rear wheel that wouldn't stay up - and then, after 7 tyre removals and re seating realised it was the valve.
But it's not the valve - so that is tomorrow sorted ...
Now watching the Brutalist on Apple TV. Think I might have to put myself our of my mysery !

Back from the road trip in Europe.
A few things are true:
- I love travelling across Europe and exploring new places with my kids
- we are getting absolutely fleeced in the UK for the cost of everything.
- we watched the football on European DAZN for £10/ month for all prem/ la liga etc. now in the UK, we’re using a VPN to say we’re in Spain and my eldest is watching the Liverpool game tonight. We have an app that converts the yap from Spanish to English but we listen on the radio.
Coming back from Calais there were 4 passport check kiosks you had to pass through to get on the ferry. 4 hours. Awful.
Good to be back. Epic journey.
