Pretty stunning really, not sure my slender frame would look good draped over it though!

That is very nice, I have neither the riding ability to do it justice or the wallet to keep it running, but I would dearly love a track day on that, it's got to be around 75bhp and weighs 104KG, I'm tempted to make a trip to Ramsey just to go and look at it, we've an office very near there.

Simply stunning 😍
As above, couldn’t come close to doing it justice, but would dearly love to have a run out on it.

Nothing there that doesn't need to be there. Minimalist porn.

It shore am purdy, even for a Honda.

That's glorious, but I would need a full-time mechanic to keep it fettled for me to mince around the track on.

They look and sound beautiful. But the riding pleasure would be a let down. Very hard to get the best of them. Narrow power band and a very stiff frame will feel alien.

But are fun when you get it right.

Yeah , if its been out together badly. I'm guessing another 15 and a loss of at least 10kg.

The same age works bikes were 90bhp, so I guessed at 75, I think it says in the ebay add it weighs 104KG

I just read the ad , and yes it does say 104.
I find that surprising as my Tzr weighs that dry, and would have thought the wheels and engine on the Honda alone should be worth a few kg.

Now I like that a lot.
Far more bike than I could do justice really but it's as minimalistic as possible.

Mates had something similar to that in the early 2000’s for GP250 class racing in the UK. Gorgeous little bikes but very very maintenance needy. I remember one snapping a crank in Friday practise at croix in France and a spare being sourced from DHR and thrown in a rucksack of a rider heading over Friday afternoon.

The bike was stripped and rebuilt overnight in a pissing rain soaked awning finishing at about 4 am. All we had to use was a workshop manual in Japanese with some pictures :)

I say “we” , I made tea and passed tools while about 3 others built the bike. Ran it in on the local French roads then raced it all weekend :D

Any race vehicle that's built as a racer from the ground up (I.e. not a modified road vehicle) is gonna be maintenance nightmare.

I've designed/built loads of "factory" type race stuff, maintenance ain't high on the list. :D It's built to a specified life sure - to finish first first you must finish and all that- but everything assumes fixed replacement intervals and highly trained and equipped mechanics.

Had a little look and found a pic of said bike "we" fixed up in Croix complete with the little Londoner that raced it rather well despite being no stranger to a pie shop , Mr Lee Finksi Finney ;)

I spent 2 years as a marshal kipping in the back of his van while him and his missus were in the caravan. Worked well for me as i rode to the track, had a warm solid sleeping place and didnt need to carry tents etc. Top bloke who i barely knew when he offered me the van to kip in all season

IIRC the RS ended up being smashed to pieces in an off and replaced with a TSR250 Honda a couple of years after this pic

I think I sold my TZR250 to him in 2000 or 2001, he was going to race it in YPM, but might have been a different Lee.

Fat Boy rode my bike in 2014. Well not the whole year mind. Injuries saw to that.
Which reminds me of this :
2nd meeting of the year and we were off to Silverstone. It was a configuration of the track that Fatty hadn't been on , and he couldn't make the Friday practice to , erm, practice. So entered the Pie eater in the 250 open to get some extra laps.
250 quali and his Chubster came in after a lap as it was only running on 1. New plugs.
Ypm quali and the fella must have been feeling peckish as he came in after 2. New Plug Caps.
I could see in Big Boys eyes as was getting on the Bike for the 250 race that he was all fired up. I placed my arm on his shoulder and spoke. "Its just a practice, learn the Track" he nodded.
Myself and mechanic Pat turned to each other and nodded as Lardy disappeared around the first corner in the top 5 having been at the back of the grid, and appeared front of the bunch as they came back into view. Yeah, Full Fat Finney had won the warm up race , and had spent the good part of one minute learning the Track. The good news was that the Bike was fixed. The bad news.....2 minutes later the Bike was fucked. Again.
The Champion Doughnut eater had got a blinding start and ...well, in his words " I went right left right, when I should have gone right left left"
Me and Pat went into the Garage to do what we had to do. Finski rolled down to the Burger Van to eat what he had to eat.

I never had any real issues with my TZ250, RS125 or even the old MT125 - apart from snapping the frame at Darley Moor.
The TZ and RS were very finicky on set-up, jet sizes had to be messed about with and we threw new rings at them often, but from memory nothing broke unless I crashed them.

I'm sure it's not rose tinted specs because my MX bikes were a pain in the arse and I'd go as far as to say my KTM350SX was the most unreliable bike I've ever owned, it was clearly not ready to release but KTM released it anyway.

I'd love a TZ, but I'm a bit porky now and old, so contorting myself onto it probably wouldn't be a fun experience.
When I raced the RS125 as a wean I was 56kgs.

Possibly a different one as he was committed to GP250 around that time as he only started racing again in 2000 after a lay off for kids and family etc. He did get a few rides in the YPM class and also went into the class proper a few years ago as below

Early 2000s i was in the paddock all season with my mate Bill Copland who was riding in MZ class helping him out but had booked the YPM renta racer for the following weekend at Mallory. So we rock up to Mallory , me on my GPz750R and Bill in his van with the MZ and the renta in the paddock. Friday goes well but Saturday Bill lobs himself and fractures a shoulder blade. Fuck.

I get his bike packed away and manage to fit my GPz into the van as well to drive him home but the issue of the renta is there as its paid for. I already knew Finski a bit by that point who was there for the GP250 class, got chatting and managed to sell him the renta ride so Bill didnt lose out too much money wise on the weekend after the crash. Lee went out in race 1 from the back of the grid having never sat on the bike and finished top 5 and came back in and tweaked the bike a bit to suit him and by race 2 won a pot dicing for the lead with the regular YPM crew. He might not have looked like a racer but the bloke can ride a 2 stroke bike ;)

He was a bit bigger in 2018 and lacking a few teeth if i remember last time i saw him in the Snetterton garages amongst all the YPM lads and lasses
