A mate of mine bought up a few domains before the First direct leeds arena had thought about buying them and he has a healthy click through Business going from them One site is the view from my seat in the first direct leeds arena, quite useful if you want to know if you have an unobscured view when your buying a ticket. Shrewd cheap way to make a few bob if your savvy.

Microsoft had some trouble with 365 on Frday which has continued today.

There also seems to be more that the usual virus laden emails flying around as well.

At the same time YouTube has "terminated" eight thousand channels exposing potential election fraud. The truth behind that fraud is not known but the numbers really don't add up and the volume of evidence is overwhelming. A number of other channels which are not left wing supporting have also disappeared.

Coincidentally perhaps, a number of US department websites have been hacked by a "foreign state actor". Dept of commerce and Treasury I think. Could be another coincidence but two days ago a massive list of CCP operatives embedded in Western companies was leaked by a Chinese dissident. Members of the CCP are tasked with acquiring sensitive information to send back to China.

It's a shame John le Carré has recently passed away. Although sadly true, at least he could have made these stories believable.

OK. So in my defence, clearly there is a lot going on behind the scenes with Google/YouTube, Facebook/Instagram etc.

There's a massive internet service outage at the same time Google/YouTube unilaterally decide to remove an entire tranche of channels.

Plus another large, state sponsored cyber attack. Now I don't know what's going on but that is currently the state of play.

Of course it might just be one of those things. A glitch but I'd hazard a guess a company like Google is going to have a fairly robust system in place so an outage is either an extremely unlikely series of events leading to a global failure (unlikely) or a deliberate act caused from within the company or from without. But hey, you asked...

Must admit I am curious to know what someone who would be offended by these observations would think might cause such an outage.

Probably going to say it's "just one of those things". A coincidence. Well, in order to reach that conclusion, surely one must examine related current affairs at the Google/YouTube megacorp if only in order to exclude them.

Well I was looking at it as I'm an IT nerd, so it's a point of interest for me as to how this can happen in the modern world due to redundancy of VM Clusters and IP redundancy through VSS switches etc.

The thoughts of a piece of malware or hacking also interested me as you'd expect Google to be very much on the case in advance too.

But I didn't see it coming down to political agenda or even a Chinese conspiracy.

I don't actually know where you're from or whether you mix in circles where what you posted is actually considered a rational thought process, but as I say, to me and I'm guessing most others on here, it just screams of complete crazy
