An old mate of mine has been telling me about a Tuesday afternoon little meet up at Dinkies diner in Shrewsbury, so today i popped along.

Snack bar is there and about 15 ish bike's. Plenty of Enfield support, Norton and a Ural combi to ice the cake. Nice.

It's a week since I got back from a trip - since then the only ride I've managed is around the block after having washed the euro-bugs off....

Had these from my brother in the meantime. Just look at the smile on the little feller's face!

Been decorating all week & planned on doing some more today but fook dat,the weather's glorious, had to take the Street Triple for a ride.
I did my usual loop to Dunsop Bridge, through the Trough & onto Devils Bridge in the sunshine.

From here you can see the lake district fells to the North,North Wales mountains to the South West,Heysham port & Morecambe to the west

Had a surprise at Devils Bridge, the 'Brew hut' was shut :wtf: ,so I made a quick exit & called in at one just outside Caton for a much needed brew, thirsty work today :D ,

Stop to pick up some coffee in Saffron Walden market, via a very roundabout route from Hertford via Maldon :D 105 miles. New tyres scrubbed nicely. To early to say how different they are to the R5, first 20 miles felt very odd indeed as new tyres can, then all good, felt very similar to the R5 but not pushed them yet. Weather was perfect at 7.30, bit warm after 10.30.

I try & do my riding mid week when the roads are quieter, one of the joys of retirement.Don't mind the heat,it's a good oportunity to test my hot weather gear, remove the lining from both my vented jacket & trousers, long sleeved top & base layer, works for me

Went of a good thrash on the old Speedy on Thursday. As usual, no pictures but the old girl enjoyed the 60 miles around the Downs

Completely agree, but for some reason Saturday seems to be my freeist day. Lady D on caring duty, no swimming or gardening. I'll have to have a think. 🤔

Not sure who’s responsible for the weather, God, Buddha, Yahweh, Vishnu, Slartibartfast, whatever deity has the job has definitely re discovered their motorcycle mojo, another cracking Sunday morning.

Not wanting to waste their efforts, I was again up nice and early to head out to source a good coffee, and the folks at the Brew Box at Aynho Wharf filled that role nicely.

Image

A steady ride home using the compass mode of the Beeline to keep me on track whilst heading off down interesting looking lanes got me back after about 3hours and near 100 miles of A, B and many unclassified roads.Even passed along a gated road today, still feels odd doing this on a public highway.

Adding a bit of variety to these shots here’s one with me included.

Yes, you can do that for any destination.

It displays an arrow and the distance ‘as the crow flies’. Great for when you’re in the mood to explore but keep a general idea of your bearings.

Just been searching, found this, might give it a go. Beeline does look interesting, you basically go in the right direction but choose the route as you go, kind of thing. ??

Looks similar, with the Beeline compass mode, there is no route, so the arrow isn’t pointing to the direction you should travel, just the direction to the destination IYSWIM.
The original Beeline Moto used an arrow to show what direction you needed to take to follow the route on the app, along with junction and roundabout exits.
The Moto 2 in route mode now has a simplified map showing the road ahead with junctions etc.

The Beeline will also record your route in the app when using compass mode, useful if you found a particularly nice road etc.
