Getting an urge for pasta and nice roads: Futa Pass, Italy
Bologna is nice. Decent food, lots of culture and even a museum dedicated to some minor motorcycle manufacturer. There's also a cheeky little road called the Futa Pass:

Hmmmm...
Hire bike in Bologna. Do the pass, could spend a night in Florence, or hang a left into the Parco Nazionale delle Foreste Casentinesi, Monte Falterona e Campigna. There'll be mountain roads a-plenty me thinks. Up to Ravenna and back to Bologna to drop the bike back. Could be a nice weekend.

When you get to Borgo San Lorenzo, keep going a bit, then take the 'Passo del Muraglione' towards Forli.
Superb, twisty road with an excellent cafe - cake and gelato shop at the top. The run into Forli is faster sweepers, personally I'd have my gelato, cake etc and turn back down the sweepy bit to Borgo.

It is indeed a lovely stretch of road. There's a very nice hotel in the square in Lavagna.Dodgy69 wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 4:30 pm Lots of lovely roads including this beauty. SS1 east of Genoa

Sestri Levante, on the coast there, is a nice spot to spend a couple of days too. Hotel Viz a Viz has a tunnel dig into the rock from street level up to clifftop level. Me and Gremlinette used to run through it whooping as it really echoed. Very childish.crust wrote: Thu Jun 12, 2025 10:20 pmIt is indeed a lovely stretch of road.
