This could be interesting if it comes to fruition.

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Being a first aider I get emails from the British Red Cross. This bit made me chuckle:
"Ever choked on dry turkey? Burnt yourself when cooking? Fell while hanging fairy lights? While the festive season can be a wonderful time of year, it can come with many hazards!"
Fucking hell. I was looking forward to Christmas, now I'm shitting myself in case I die in some tinsel-related tragedy.

Extracted my youngest from the clutches of tier3 Bristol last week. He's been isolating with us but away from us and today got the all clear.
First hug since January.

Baking them was nice...

I'm hoping eating them will be nicer.
Chocolate and orange gin infused muffins for the wife.
Cranberry and sultana with a little apricot jam for me and the boy

I did a condensed milk toffee steamed pudding last night, first one in a long time.

Well the tray holds 6... Which is fine. But when i made the mix i then had to split it into 2... 1 for Chocolate and 1 for fruit..Mr. Dazzle wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 12:28 pmThat's a really weird number to make....7....weeksy wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 11:37 am Baking them was nice...

Then i filled the 2 cases for chocolate and had loads left, so needed 3.... So baked them on their own first.
Then started the fruit.... that ended up being a 4... not a usual of 3.... so ended up with 7

"We cannot do this by Zoom because the buggers will all cheat. Also, some think Zoom is a nightclub in Bolton, so they will be confused.

I think you'll find you're an amateur. You can't train for an event like that on paella and gazpacho*Yorick wrote: ↑Fri Dec 11, 2020 12:36 pm I've just found out that I'm an elite athlete

* Whatever that is, I just Googled "Spanish foods" and gazpacho was first on the list.

It's a soup that's not even worth wasting the heat to warm it up.

Got a friend who's son is seriously into dinosaurs (he's only about 2 or 3) so I put my crochet to good use!
Made a scary orange kitten for his sister - the other kitten went with a baby blanket to a little girl who has a new baby brother!

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
Thank you! Little boy loved it
LOL - I did make the short right arm even shorter than the short left arm!! LOL LOL
Nah - I'm quite forgiving really! (Don't think he was on the list anyway!! LOL)
My friends called me (accidentally - on Messenger) as the kids were opening the various things, so it was brilliant to see the two kids and the toys - the little girl grabbed the orange cat by the tail and didn't let go!! LOL
if this photo shows up, I did a teddy blanket for the girl as well as the cat!
I was limited on the colours of wool in rehab for the teddy blanket!
K's aunt arrived just after they'd received my parcel and she gave him a Brachiosaurus (or something!!) - so he doesn't know what to do now with THREE new dinos!!
And at last, a photo of D with the cat - not swinging it by it's tail!!

That reminds me. I'm running low. Order incoming.Wreckless Rat wrote: ↑Sat Dec 12, 2020 5:38 pm Taking the most coffee I ever have to a farmers market and selling out of everything bar two bags....
(As an aside, I spoke to a colleague the other day whilst I was actually in the office. I made a jug of coffee using a bag of ground Waitrose coffee, which in fairness had been opened maybe 5 weeks prior. We both grimaced as the resulting brew. My colleague stated that since ordering the WVC and tasting the difference, everything else tastes like shite)

Re: Insignificant Things That Make You Happy.
And meeting my new great-nephew at the weekend. Welcome to the world Oscar Matthew*
I'd post a picture, but I ain't got one.
*Middle name in memory of my B-I-L who passed away aged 46 earlier this year and never got the chance to meet his new grandson. He would have made you proud, mate.
