Re: utterly random picture thread.
On this day in 1987 a group of hired labourers carried 700 old hospital beds onto Saunton Sands in Devon, England for a photo shoot by Robert Dowling & Storm Thorgerson.
Carefully arranged they were to form the cover to the iconic Pink Floyd album 'A momentary lapse of reason'
Despite meticulous planning the weather intervened, with rain forcing the shoot to be abandoned, the exercise was repeated a few weeks later.
By coincidence 1987 was also the year that Photoshop was first developed (although it wasn't marketed until 1988) fast forward a few years and thanks to Photoshop, AI, and other graphic handling/manipulation programmes we are unlikely to ever see the likes of this epically staged photo shoot again.

Remembering Margaret Bourke-White who was born on this day, June the 14th, in 1904
Bourke-White was the first foreign photographer permitted to take pictures of the Soviet five-year plan, the first American female war photojournalist, and one of her photographs (of Fort Peck Dam) featured on the cover of the first issue of Life magazine.
This image of her on the Chrysler Building was taken by her assistant Oscar Graubne

Mk1 FIAT Panda.
My first car was one of these, red with a 'rust faster stripe' down the side
Looking back, the design was very clever, particularly the back seat which consisted of fabric and three plastic tubes, allowing it to be configured in a number of ways or removed altogether to give you a mini van.
Rusted to fuck in the UK climate so not many left, and now a bit of a cult car, but the Italians keep 'em running, especially the 4x4 ones, as in old hilltop villages they go where a Range Rover can't.

No. She got a clung on the right turn out a junction onto a road with no pot holes. Few 100 tards down the road the bottom part of the coil spring broke away making the rest drop and straight into the tyre. 60 zone and traffic behind so she had to drive until next safe place to stop. Thankfully it was run flat tyres.

One reason I don't mow my lawn is so that critters like this visit.
The other is laziness.

Extremely determined little bar steward that one. Had to drop up the second half of breakfast until actually ready to eat it or he’d have stomped all over it the little git!!
