Buenos Aires 1933 vs 2024
The Avenida 9 de Julio in Buenos Aires (the widest in the world) used to be full of buildings and houses. In 1933 they began to demolish 20 blocks, and it took 3 months to demolish each block. The new Avenida as we know it today was inaugurated in 1937.

We got more rain in those 2 hours than in the previous 2 years.
The rain was the heaviest registered on the island for several years – in the Las Cucharas area of Costa Teguise, more rain (62.5 mms) was registered in the two hours of between 1 pm and 3pm than fell during the whole of 2024 or 2023. Nevertheless, other parts of the island received only light showers or no rain at all.
