New 916 ??

Post by Noggin »

I think it looks ok !! If it wasn't limited edition, I'd check up the price cos, maybe !! But there's no way I can afford something that's Limited Edition :( :(

I'd bloody love an actual original 916 but that's probably only because the first Ducati I ever rode was a 916 SPS !!!

I had a sit on the new V2 Streetfighter this afternoon, I was very, very tempted.

I may have to go to Ducati to "test ride" a couple of models to see which my shoulder prefers !!!

Totally get where you’re coming from — the 916 has that timeless appeal. It’s not just the looks, it’s the whole vibe it gives off when you ride it. I had a go on one years ago and it left a mark. Shame the new one is limited, though… Ducati knows exactly how to tease us with nostalgia!

Had a couple of 996's over a twenty year span - love the looks of them but finally grew out of the bike - it did everything so very well (apart from urban riding) but I got too familiar with them. I'd pin it from the lights and five minutes later I'd have forgotten that sensation.
These days my 1198s does the job - it's insane and makes me say "fack!" on every ride for good & bad reasons😂

My mate who's 916 I rode sold it for a 1098s and then got an 1198s !! Probably for similar reasons - back then there wouldn't have been so much understanding of that on my part, but now I do get it !!

Pretty sure he's back with the 916 (sold it to a mate who wanted an 1198s so they exchanged again) but mostly because he's stopped riding much - he's now a cycle road racer :( but I think the 916 was always in his head as his baby, so that's the one he wanted in the garage in case he fancied a motorbike ride !!

I do love insane - just not sure I have the ability (or arm) any more to deal with it, so might have to be that awful S word :( :( :( -

Sensible

No idea really. I suspect it will handle almost anything (sports or touring types, not lean back Harley style!!) for short periods

I’m fairly sure a more sporty one will be better for it (elbow bent and down) but I do need to go try some.

Just gotta sort out a permanent place to live first!!
