Got caught up in a grid locked traffic jam on saturday. A Hyundai EV had gone into the front of a van and apparantly dislodged the main battery of the EV. Over an hour and half before the fire brigade declared it safe to be transported on a recovery truck.

I haven't been near my car for a couple of weeks now, so I just looked at the app to see how much battery I'd lost on the parasitic draw. It was only 3%! If you leave Sentry mode (multiple dashcams) on, it uses a lot more but I dont need that on when its down the side of the house.

I'm loving the Octopus Intelligent Go tariff. Just plug the car in at any time and Octopus takes over teh car and waits for the cheap rate time to charge it. With my useage the granny charger more than suffices, so i'm really pleased I did't put a home charger in and saved myself c£1k there. I will put an external 240v socket on the driveaway wall, so in winter i dont have to have the window open to hang the cable out, but I can do that myself.

They can very easily download the footage from the car, there's an app.

Right at the end of the video he says "...right here in Auckland..."

MY Google Maps suggests, Auckland to Hamilton and back is about 152 miles. YMMV, but surely not by that much.

And by the way, 4 minutes for about 200 to 300 miles range vs his quoted 7 minutes to fill up a diesel tank. That would be what? 800 miles? 1000 miles?

Even forgetting the performance, as I run mine in chill mode (reduced power), but the more i drive it, the more i like it. Its silky smooth, quiet and very comfortable too. Even my wife says how lovely it is and she's not really a person who comments on such things.

We are surrounded by EVs - Volvo EV one side, Tesla the other, next door but one has a Taycan. A 2nd hand Taycan is the bargain of the century, neighbour got his new unfortunately

Fantastic car but I'm not keen on the looks. Something about 4 door Porsches that isn't right? I was told they are, or was, the car with the worst depreciation and I was surprised to learn the Lambo Urus is the car with the best residuals!
