Gave in and taxed the Beemer for the commute.
The fact it's got a topbox and can do more than 55mph won it.

Good thing you took the bike, might have struggled with parking otherwise.KungFooBob wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 8:05 am Gave in and taxed the Beemer for the commute.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got a Health Check video from the BMW stealership for the wife's car.
Starts going on about tyre tread depth, damage to the suspension strut dust covers, brake pad thickness, etc... gets to the middle of the car and he says the gearbox needs replacing. Lol, maybe he could have started with that!
Looks like I'm on the bike for a few more days!

I WFH on Fridays. I'm allowed to do Thursdays too, but prefer the office.Dodgy69 wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 1:40 pmWhy aren't you working from home like everybody else.KungFooBob wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 8:05 am Gave in and taxed the Beemer for the commute.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Sitting here wishing my physio worked a week or two past the end of the season!!
Today i packed more stuff, moved more stuff, forgot to take food to the apartment so have not only done a decent number of steps today, I didn't exactly eat much either
I've had to put some stuff in boxes, which is ok, but I can' lift them
BUT - a lovely French friend has volunteered her partner to come by after lunch and move boxes/stuff into his van tomorrow and then drive to the garage I use (really only about 2 mins by car!!) and help me unload the stuff into the garage
She's awesome
she's also going to lend me some more bags for life (cos I can carry them!!). Just hoping her partner has agreed to the help!!!
It does suck moving solo - even more when a mate brings some bags up and says - "oh you haven't got very far have you?"
FFS, I only started properly this morning (first full day) and actually I don't think I've done too badly - but she can only see what is piled up to be moved, not what I have actually moved/sorted!!

Re: What have you done today thread?
Spent the day riding round and round Snetterton on the old faithful Bandit in just about perfect weather- the place has changed a bit since the 80s!
Least said the better about the "new" pretty one butthe fucking thing still let me down, really is one thing after another with that (admittedly pretty) shitter..
)
Were a few other NG racers there, I'm a few seconds off race winning pace, but know which way I'm going now and was definitely getting closer by the end of the day
No pics as I didn't take any

Re: What have you done today thread?
Checked the pet insurance calculations.
As I'm paying 20% of the fees due to his age, and we're north of £8K so far I'm being a bit extra focused. So far, we agree.

Re: What have you done today thread?
LOL! It's basically maintenance tracking software (CARCare), but one of the other features is for fuel & as I go weeks between fill-ups it's easy to keep up. Only filled up 8 times last year (Mar-Dec), but 10 times so far this year, increase was due to the Az trip & truck getting more use in Jan-Feb. Probably won't need to full up again until June now.wheelnut wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 9:36 pm You keep a spreadsheet for your fuel use?

Re: What have you done today thread?
Got a letter from my health insurance today.
It was written with a REALLY BIG FONT that said
"Important information for blind individuals about Medi-Cal"
I don't think the large font size helped...

Re: What have you done today thread?
Good deed for the day...done!
Walking behind a young lady on the way into work this morning. She was wearing a backpack which was causing her dress to ride up at the back, threatening to show her modesty.
I tapped her on the shoulder to let her know and she thanked me profusely, whilst tugging it back down furiously.

Re: What have you done today thread?
Did the same with a very fit young lady whose bag had caused her skirt to shuffle up and show a pert cheek. Must have been 2 miles before I mustered the courage to tell her!
