Yup. Nice and sunny 21ºC here in the SE too.
The plural of 'anecdote' is not 'data'.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
Been sunny and warm here in sunny Cumbria for over a month now.
Not daft hot though and still frosty mornings followed by about 20 degree days with a light breeze.
Perfect as far as I'm concerned but we could do with some rain so we don't end up with that yellow dry grass some countries get.
Oh and the bluebells are up although they could do with a bit of rain also.

Before big storms, the council diggers remove the beach so water can flood out.

We're sat here happy, but many hotels in town are so fucked up they're refusing guests. No leccy or water etcYorick wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 9:47 pm Instant lake. Our gaff is behind the palm trees by the biggest pole.

Hundreds of folk from airport have nowhere to stay
Been hearing sirens all evening. And can see blue lights flashing in distance.
Biggest storm in 20 years.
Amazing what 3 hours can do
Our pal just called. She's sending folk to Fuerteventura

Re: utterly random picture thread.
I suppose it’s the same way the uk grinds to a halt with snow as councils can’t budget for occasional or rare weather?
‘Twas 25 degrees in Frankfurt yesterday! Looks a bit cloudy out there now…

Re: utterly random picture thread.
That looks like its specifically setup to act as a water attenuation lagoon so when tainfall is very heavy it floods then releases water downstream in a more ontrolled manner.Yorick wrote: Sat Apr 12, 2025 9:47 pm Instant lake. Our gaff is behind the palm trees by the biggest pole.

You get them on new developments round here.
Obviously they can be overloaded during exceptional circumstances but as a general measure ate worthwhile.
They also allow more rain to seep into the ground which helps the groundwater situation a d beats the crap out of the massive concrete ditchike a bobsleigh run and floods everyone downstream as soon as rainstarts.

Re: utterly random picture thread.
We got more rain in those 2 hours than in the previous 2 years.
https://gazettelife.com/news/costa-tegu ... two-hours/
.The rain was the heaviest registered on the island for several years – in the Las Cucharas area of Costa Teguise, more rain (62.5 mms) was registered in the two hours of between 1 pm and 3pm than fell during the whole of 2024 or 2023. Nevertheless, other parts of the island received only light showers or no rain at all.

N island NZ, the annual Whangamata Beach Hop…unbelievable massive parade of (mostly) American muscle cars and bikes. Brilliant event -the town goes crazy!
Some of the detail in the restorations/modified stuff was amazing…
