Weird porn, but sure, whatever does it for youHarry wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 10:23 am I'd struggle to see the difference unless the various different types are side by side, but we watched something last night about a bloke and an octopus and we started watching it in the snug on a smaller TV (65") and decided it was so good that it was worth watching on the bigger one in the main living room, so we decamped and it was much better on a big screen.
I'm not much of a TV person, or HiFi or whatever other sensory stuff is out there, but if you're going to have it then have it large.

I’ll post a pic once it lands ... I used to have them all when I was a kid but they were well played with. I used to have the starsky and hutch Torino as well - good boxed ones fetch quite a bit now.

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
You can get repro boxes for them but they should be advertised as such. This one is advertised as original box. No they're not sealed and yes it may have been opened but what it really means is that everything is in the box is as it was when new with the original locator ties for the figures etc.Horse wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 1:36 pm Is there a seal or something?

The wife collects bears and I've been wanting something semi-interesting to collect so it it may be the start of something, maybe not. I don't know much about them tbh but I might start to ddo some digging.

Feck knows how many of them I destroyed in the 1970s
I liked the toy cars with the little levers that let you take the wheels off, think I had an Oldsmobile Toronado like that.
Anyway, today a brand sparkly new replica RZ350 wiring loom has been delivered

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
We had a mating pair of cuttlefish that lived by the pier at our old house and after they got used to us we got to the point where we could gently touch them and they'd sit there. Unfortunately one day I was walking out to have a swim and I stood on one by accident (didn't see it), it shot off in a cloud of ink and we never saw them again. I wondered if it had seen me get into the water and came to greet me like a dog would, only to be stamped oncheb wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 8:27 amHarry wrote: ↑Mon Dec 07, 2020 10:35 amA friend told me about it, it's well worth a watch.

Re: The Official Pleasing Purchase Thread
I am currently using 3 pleasing purchases and been using them for a while. All good bits of kit.
No. 1 is the Proxxon BS/A a cordless 'finger' belt sander. Great for getting into tight corners and sanding the inside edges of holes etc. I bought a load of sanding belts and a spare battery along with it and as a lot of the current work is away from the house with no electricity (there is electricity available but I'd need 50+ metres of cable) is been a very good buy.
https://www.proxxon.com/en/micromot/29810.php
No 2 is a Dremel VersaTip gas torch. This come with a few different tips for cutting (and sealing) rope, soldering, basic flame and a hot air tip with a shaped attachment useful for shrink wrapping wiring. I used it as a gas torch to remove all the old paint from the sole plate of my boat - it gave just the right amount of heat to get the paint off without damaging the fibreglass/epoxy underneath. It's a great soldering torch as well; I've been soldering some marine grade tinned copper wire and again it delivered just the right heat on a low setting where my other soldering irons were producing too much heat. Fills up with gas lighter fluid which is pennies here. A very pleasing purchase.

No 3 is/are Mirka Abranet sanding discs. They claim dust free sanding and that's almost true. As a sort of abrasive mesh the built in dust extraction on the sander works so much better than with regular sanding discs. When they're getting a bit tired from the ROS they still have loads of life in them for hand sanding and fold up nicely to get into tricky corners. I bought 10 discs each of 80, 120 and 240 grit back in July and haven't thrown one disc away yet. Seriously, the dog's doodahs of sanding discs.

I got all of the above here in Turkey as well and at the same price as UK - if I'd waited a bit, the rate of exchange would have made them cheaper. Of course, if I'd known how the exchange rate was going to go I could have put my self in the position where I could pay for people to do the work instead of buying tools but hey ho.

I've seen belt sanders with very abrasive belts used to grind the heads right off mullered bolts !Yambo wrote: ↑Tue Dec 08, 2020 1:13 pm I am currently using 3 pleasing purchases and been using them for a while. All good bits of kit.

Basically a Twix made with gingerbread rather than regular biscuit. Loads better.
That Twix sounds AMAZING!!!!!
I need to make friends with some of the hunters around here to get some venison and wild boar!! I miss proper sausages so at some point I’m going to try and learn to make them !!!gremlin wrote: ↑Wed Oct 14, 2020 2:59 pm 12 packets of sausages (nice ones, too) from Morrison's for 7p each. Also snaffled some turkey breast slices and turkey burgers for the same. The hound will eat well for the next few weeks.
And for me, 4 packs of diced venison, reduced from £4 a pack to 20p. They reside in my freezer awaiting transformation to a game stew.

I bought (well a friend bought it and I collected and paid for it today) à Lidl plug in shoulder/neck heat blanket thingy!!!!
Damn it’s awesome! Now I just need to make a ‘sleeve’ with pockets to put hot packs in to heat up the muscles on my arm!!!
Woohoo!!!
Also, got a pressie - a ceramic/non stick ‘inner’ for my mini instant pot so I can do things like fried rice in it!! Gonna try that tomorrow
