Yozza does a nice line in chilled Eurofizz lager for free. You should pop in unannounced one day. PM me and I'll give you his address. :D

On Monday I ordered two jackets & some tools on Amazon.
One jacket is coming from China, it actually shipped the same day & is scheduled for delivery sometime between Dec 24th & Jan 19th...

The other jacket is coming from Brazil. It arrived at the shippers in Brazil yesterday at 5.36am, was in California before 3pm & is out for delivery this morning... & I don't have Amazon Prime.

Oddly the tools I bought are included in this shipment which I find odd as they are an 8pc set of GearWrench sensor sockets & doubt very much that they are coming from Brazil.

The pleasing part is the entire pile was about $140, but I took advantage of the "$60 gift card if you apply for an Amazon credit card" so it's actually only $80 for all the stuff.

Jacket & GW sensor socket set showed up :)
Impressed with the jacket, one of these, black:

Pretty damn good for $46.

Only part of the description they got wrong was saying the two zipper pockets aren't real pockets when they actually are. It's made in China, not Brazil, but I don't care.

(no idea why the link didn't show up & somehow become a big empty area instead, look up "Eklentsen Men's Cotton Lightweight Multi Pockets Zip Front Stand Collar Military Jackets Windbreaker" on Amazon)

How much beer does it hold, mister?

I went into TK Maxx yesterday to see if they had any wall mirrors I might like in the living room now we've painted it up a bit. Came out with a right nice poncy coat with a well flash lining. £80, but it got universal approval from Gremlinette and Mrs. G., who, it has to be said, is fond of telling me that I shouldn't be allowed out clothes shopping on my own...

Given that you only sit outside in groups of 6 at the moment, you could all get one of those, tell the table service wallah to fill them up and then never bother them for another pint for the whole evening. And given it's winter, you can keep your hands in your pockets, save getting them cold. Winner.

One of these in the wallet:

So no potential for grief over carrying a knife.

And a cheapo leatherman-like multitool in the laptop rucksack.

A stealth stabber!

I usually carry a non locker, even though I prefer a locking blade. I'm way too old for plod to give me grief,I'm more of a danger to myself anyway.

A water softener- yeah yeah I know a bit dull, but it’s simply wonderful showering/bathing in soft water. After two days my skin feels better already [/mumsnet]
