Staying alive cornering tips needed?
Or perhaps this should be in the cycling forum. YouTube link to a vid.

Some behaviour modification certainly wouldn't go amiss. Thats another cyclist who now vehemently hates bikers.

IIRC the TdF motorcyclists have trouble staying with the riders heading downhill.
However ... that lead rider is grim and embarrassing.

Even bland can be a type of character

At the point the cyclist came passed I'd have got off and ritually committed suicide. Its the only way to maintain honour.

Not just TdF motorcyclists!
I was a member of the National Motorcycle Escort Group for a time and marshalled a number of races including an international under-23 event. One circuit had a fairly steep and twisty downhill section - I was well aware I needed to be some distance ahead of the race as I went over the top, but I really didn't expect the leaders to come past me about a third of the way down!
And I wasn't hanging about either. Next lap, I was MUCH further in front.
And yes, that first rider is awful.

Yes, I was told the same thing by a group of escort riders while we are all waiting for the ferry once. They also said that if you're at the front you need to be *very* aware of a possible "break" (if that's the term), because if you aren't you'll be surrounded by a big group of riders very quickly. The Spin Doctor wrote: ↑Sat Dec 05, 2020 4:21 pmNot just TdF motorcyclists!

Re: Staying alive cornering tips needed?
This video is way too embarrassing to watch more than once. I want to believe this is the first time this person has ridden a bike and perhaps when someone told them about road positioning in corners they got their left and rights mixed up. I hope they is still alive.
