Bike Park Wales Saturday 5th Dec, pedal up...
Booked me and the small creature in for BPW on Sat.
Plan is to pedal up as we don't want to do uplift van. We'll then session the top half till lunch time, then maybe down Popty Ping/Terrys Belly for a lunch one, then back up after lunch for 1-2 more.
Anyone else ?

I think we're not allowed mate now i've looked into it...
I've pinged BPW to get their thoughts.

It seems that may be the case... I saw one of the lads on PB had been, so thought we'd be OK, but seems i was mistaken and the gun turrets are still loaded.

That's commitment for you- hope the weather is better there then than it is here today- just been out walking the dog for an hour and it's truly horrible!

Thanks, I don't have a full face..... yet
Can you define Armour? I have decent knee and elbow pads, do I need back protector too?

Well, you don't NEED any of it to be allowed to ride, sorry.
However, that's personally what i think people should have and ought to use.
I can give you a FF mate if you want. Bell Sanction in a L (59-60), it's used but washed and cleaned and i've bought a new one so it's not getting used again.
We generally do knee and a full armour jacket...But we'd do the same in the Alps which you of course may not do.

FWIW, I use Dainese soft knee pads and a crappy pull on top with elbow and shoulder armour. A back protector is advisable but I don't believe it's compulsory. I don't recall anyone scrutinising kit before allowing you out on to the trails but I've only been there a few times.

Cold, wet, freezing, wet, cold, uppy, cold,
Oh did I mention it was cold too.
Awesome fun though. The small creatures had a blast and so did I. Most happy.

Re: Bike Park Wales Saturday 5th Dec, pedal up...
Bit of an update for anyone thinking of non uplift day.
I’ve done it before back when it first opened so knew what to expect and we’d planned accordingly.
First half is steeper than the 2nd. So we got to the 4/5 distance and sessioned popty ping for the jump kids. You can do the bigger jumps then loop left which takes you back on the fire road and 4-5 mins back up.
We then went up to the top for the Red Wibly Wobly which was kinda tough, jumpy and rocky droopy which was slightly challenging to say the least!
Then more popty ping, then a run down Terry’s Belly to finish. Then a sneaky Norkle at the end for jumpy fun.
Staying with the small ones was challenging! On the rocky stuff it was ok, but the faster jumpy and swoopy stuff they do get on with it that's for sure. They were most impressive out there.
The bottom half of climb isn’t nice. The top half is a generic fire road trundle, none of it is impossible to ride, especially with a motor.
