Come the birth of the AI overlords, you'll all be thanking China for limiting chip supply in the west.

Re: In todays news...
Edinburgh and Fife has a perfectly good train service. Unless you worked on the Gyle (West of Edinburgh) you would be better on the train as that took you to Haymarket or Waverly station. Two driver driverless bus only went as far as Edinburgh Park what is next to the Gyle. You would need to jump on a tram to get into the city. Not to far from the same area is a park and ride also.Horse wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 7:04 pmAnywhere else, passenger demand would affect service provision. Yet more backpeddling from Labour as they back down from their previous demands for the waspi women to be compensated. Now given the chance to do so, they refuse to! Yet more broken promises and lies!

Just watched it on the news. It's pretty shocking the stance the reds had before the election compared to now.
You can see why people have no trust in traditional politicians. The UK needs a Trump to disrupt the political landscape. Not because they'd be good, but just to shake up the fucking shite political bollocks we have to put up with now.

I still fail to see why these Waspi Women are so upset. Their opinion seems to be that they are financially out of pocket?

I don't know why pensioners are so upset about losing their winter fuel allowance. Their opinion seems to be that they're out of pocket.
I don't know why farmers are so upset about inheritance tax. Their opinion seems to be that they're out of pocket.
Isn't "being out of pocket" a valid reason to be upset?

Re: In todays news...
It is high time for me to put an end to your sitting in this place,
which you have dishonored by your contempt of all virtue, and defiled by your practice of every vice.
Ye are a factious crew, and enemies to all good government.
Ye are a pack of mercenary wretches, and would like Esau sell your country for a mess of pottage, and like Judas betray your God for a few pieces of money.
Is there a single virtue now remaining amongst you? Is there one vice you do not possess?
Ye have no more religion than my horse. Gold is your God. Which of you have not bartered your conscience for bribes? Is there a man amongst you that has the least care for the good of the Commonwealth?
Ye sordid prostitutes have you not defiled this sacred place, and turned the Lord's temple into a den of thieves, by your immoral principles and wicked practices?
Ye are grown intolerably odious to the whole nation. You were deputed here by the people to get grievances redressed, are yourselves become the greatest grievance.
Your country therefore calls upon me to cleanse this Augean stable, by putting a final period to your iniquitous proceedings in this House; and which by God's help, and the strength he has given me, I am now come to do.
I command ye therefore, upon the peril of your lives, to depart immediately out of this place.
Go, get you out! Make haste! Ye venal slaves be gone! So! Take away that shining bauble there, and lock up the doors.
In the name of God, go!

But at the age of 59 11/12ths they could have decided to carry on working. Nothing was taken away from them, so how can they be out of pocket ?Saga Lout wrote: ↑Tue Dec 17, 2024 11:53 pmI don't know why pensioners are so upset about losing their winter fuel allowance. Nobody panic. Inflation is cooling, mortgages will be cheaper, it's all good....
Oh...hang on...that don't look good: https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cvgmndllpz9o
Just throwing it out there: if businesses have increasing costs, such as increased N.I., maybe they'll increase their prices a bit. If a lot of businesses do tat, it might stoke inflation.

SKS seems to lurching from on crisis to another, purely of his own making.
