TAS not doing the roads and now Ducati official BSB Squad

Post by westers151 »

They're not doing the roads as they want to concentrate on winning the BSB championship. Running Ducati in BSB and SSP - https://www.crash.net/rr/news/1061564/1 ... withdrawal

What that article doesn't say is they'll be the official Ducati squad for BSB - 55 minutes into the Off Track podcast interview with Roger Burnett they briefly talk about it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5UX2qCCV5k8

With Birdy gone, I'm not surprised at the shift of official teams, however I'm not convinced TAS have a rider lineup to win it this year. Todd is a very talented, but he's still got a fair bit of learning of the Superbike before he can shine.

Maybe it's a two year plan.

BTW, the Off Track Podcast is excellent. Really good guests, and the bloke who does the interviewing lets the guest talk, rather than interrupt them.

I listened to a short interview with Philip Neil earlier this year & he gave the impression that they might be finishing in the near future,he even missed the presentation when they won the Senior TT, so it's no surprise that they're not doing the roads next year.
Davey Todd isn't riding for them next season,he's Hicky's team mate at FHO.
PBM are running Glenn Irwin again on the Ducati. In the interview I listened to they said that they would like to get back to running a two rider team maybe in 2026.
Moto Rapido are running Superbike with Leon Haslam & Ben Currie is staying on the Supersport bike.
I see that Rapid Honda are not running Superbike next season but stepping down to a 2 rider Supersport team with Owen Jenner & Harley McCabe so I don't know what Franco Bourne's doing next season.
I've been listening to those Off Track podcast's for a while, the host,Dave Neil is good, unlike others,he lets the guest talk.

No/Yes and Yes

Moto Rapido are carrying on, with Ducati, but not with Oxford sponsorship. They've signed Leon Haslam...

Birdy's team is still Ducati, and signed Glen until end of 2026.

Yeah, sorry, got my facts wrong about Todd and TAS. They've kept Rory Skinner.

I think I listened to the same interview, which if it was, was the Off Track podcast. Phillip Neil basically said he's not getting any younger, and sooner or later he'll have to stop.

I can't remember where I heard the Philip Neil interview, probably a Isle of Man TT podcast, but it could have been the Off Track podcast.Being a Northern Ireland based team TAS probably get asked about road racing more than most teams in the BSB paddock.Anyway it was a good way for Hector Neil to sign off from road racing.
