I dont miss them, I recall the ones with drunken fistfights and one infamous serious assault after someone was found shagging someone else's wife in an empty office.
If ours were like that, i'd turn up every year without fail!

Mostly alternated, drunken debauchery one year, with not only fisticuffs but also massive embarrassmentfor many, followed by a boring year, where everyone was ultra cautious.

We've got ours next Thursday after work (work mon-thurs), it's just drinks in the pub this year, christmas jumpers are mandatory apparently !!

We'd normally go for food etc, but I don't think anyone really seems to give a shit this year. I tend to avoid the works do's and leaving do's as I'm just not keen at socialising with people from work. Invariably it just becomes a work slagoff fest, everyone moaning or talking about work stuff.

But I have promised to make a bit of an effort this year.

Mine’s tonight in Edgbaston, I’m in Sunderland, so no I’m not going.

In fairness, the company picks up the tab for travel and hotel but reports from last year showed limited drinks vouchers, long queues, poor catering and once the vouchers ran out, expensive drinks which saw people either head home early or decamp to a cheaper venue nearby which kind of defeats the purpose of getting everyone together.

If I worked for a smaller company or had an office local to me, then perhaps I’d bother but in reality, I don’t mind missing the various parties throughout the year, fine I work with these people but I wouldn’t choose to socialise with most of them.
